KKMA Karnataka branch holds AGM; Abdul Jabbar elected president

Salmiya (Kuwait): The Karnataka branch of Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA), a social service organization of Indian expatriates in Kuwait has elected Abdul Jabbar as its new president for next two-years term (2015 – 2016) in its general body meeting held under the supervision of K.C Gafoor, Election officer of KKMA at SIMS, Salmiya on December 26, 2014.

The meeting commenced with a beautiful recitation of the holy Quran by Master Shuaib. Working President of Karnataka Branch B.M Iqbal delivered the welcome address and highlighted the various social and charitable achievements and activities of KKMA such as Family Benefit Scheme (FBS), Educational Scholarship Program (ESP), Kidney Dialysis Centers (KDC), Medical Assistance Program (MAP) and Housing Improvement Program (HIP).

He also highlighted their new initiative by name Magnet. The objective of Magnet is to visit the poor patients admitted in various hospitals in Kuwait and provide them with financial as well as moral support in their needs. This program has a dedicated volunteers team who will also assist in the documentation and transfer of human remains to their respective destination in India irrespective of caste or religion.

KKMA President Abdul Fatah Tayyil in his inaugural speech applauded the contribution of Karnataka branch in community service and social welfare activities.

KKMA Chairman Sagheer Trikaripur illustrated the varieties of social projects which KKMA executed successfully during the last 12 years. He highlighted that to achieve an extraordinary things the person does not have to be extraordinarily gifted, the success is available to anyone (poor or rich) who will learn a few simple principles and consistently put them into practice.

An annual report was presented by Abdul Latheef detailing the past two years activities of the branch committee. The comprehensive finance report was prepared and presented by Sayed Rafik and Abubakker Tumbay, Treasurers of Karnataka Branch was an evidence for KKMA’s remarkable benefit programs contributed to the needs of their members and the society.

During the program the outgoing President Hameed Mulki appreciated the team and thanked them for their selfless services rendered in charitable activities.

The newly elected President Abdul Jabbar in his address highlighted the opportunity provided by KKMA for charitable works with special mention of versus from Holy Quran and teachings of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).

The well-wishers and chief guests were honored with gratitude of appreciation with flowers and memento for their continued support and dedicated efforts to take the Association to this great height in the past 12 years. .

The Branch also felicitated the members Ismal Kadambu, Anwar Bolar,Imthiyaz Surinje, Shaukath Shirva, Salam B.A, Shareef Mulki, Mohammed Iqbal Kasco, Aboobaker Puthubava, Abdul Kareem, Abdul Razak Uchila, S. M Emran Basha, Mabiya Kadaba, Nasser Adyapadi, Thameem Ulla, Hafeez Ali, Jaffer Honnavara, Abdul Hameed KT, for their excellent contribution to the community work.

Outgoing President Hameed Mulki was felicitated with memento for his leadership and valuable services to KKMA during the last 2 years of his tenure.

Mr. Hasan A. Yusuf was felicitated by Branch for his outstanding community service for the last three decades.

KKMA central committee leaders Akbar Siddik, Ali Matra, PA Abdulla, K.C Rafik, Zam Zam Rasgeed and other leaders from various KKMA branches were present.

The program was successfully convened by S.M Imran and the meeting was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Yusuf Muniya followed by dua from Hafiz Saheb.

The program was attended by a large number of members & guests and dinner was served at the end.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.

God bless you brother and keep you healthy plus happy always.   You will be in the prayers of those who receivec your timely regardles they are hindu or muslim or christian.   This is a slap on the face of hate mongers who are always trying to divide the socieity in the name of religion.    Such people are burden to this world and society.   We should clean our society from such dirt and bad people.   Well done brother.  May God bless you.
