KRK `alleges' KJo paid Rs 25 lakh to tweet against Shivaay

Mumbai, Sep 2: The box office battle between Ajay Devgn's "Shivaay" and Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" got dirty today with Kamaal R Khan purportedly alleging that he was paid Rs 25 lakh by the latter to tweet against "Shivaay".

ajay"Shivaay" and "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" will clashing at the box office this Diwali.

An audio has surfaced where film maker Kamaal R Khan is heard confessing that Karan paid him to tweet against Ajay's "Shivaay". The audio, however, is not verified.

It was recorded by Kumar Mangat Pathak, producer and Ajay's business associate.

Devgn issued a statement this evening demanding investigation to find if Karan had paid KRK.

"I have been a part of the Indian film industry for the past 25 years and have been associated with over 100 films. My father was a professional action director and I have emotional connection with this industry," Ajay said in a statement here.

"It therefore pains me to see that people like Kamaal R Khan are holding the film industry to ransom by spreading negativity about films to extort money from producers," he said. "It is very sad that people from our own industry are supporting such elements and spoiling the ethos of industry.

"I would strongly demand that this be thoroughly investigated by competent authorities to clarify if Karan Johar was indeed involved in this," Ajay added.

So far there is no statement from the Johar camp on the allegations.

Meanwhile, KRK took to Twitter and slammed Devgn and his team. "I say thanks to Ajay Devgn and Kumar Mangat for giving me licence to destroy their... film #Shivaay.." he tweeted.

KRK further tweeted that he will release his "reply video" once he got to hear the alleged taped conversation.

New Delhi, Apr 23: As the holy month of Ramzan is about to begin, several Muslim public figures on Thursday appealed to the community to offer tarawih and hold iftar inside their homes and follow the lockdown regulations imposed to tackle the coronavirus threat.

Television actor Iqbal Khan in a video message appealed to the people to not step out of their houses during Ramzan.

"This time around, whatever you do during Ramzan, you have to do it inside your houses. Do not visit mosques; offer tarawih (late evening prayers offered during Ramzan) at your homes. Your stepping outside will not only put you in a problem but may put your family members in trouble also," said Khan.

"And that will be wrong, do not go outside. If anyone says you have to go outside then they are wrong. Stay home and stay safe and help others stay safe too," he added.

Another TV actor and Tik Tok star Jannat Zubair asked people to avoid any kind of social gatherings so as to ensure the safety of everyone.

"I know we are in a difficult situation but there is no need to panic. We will overcome this and things will be fine. The holy month of Ramzan is going to start, please stay home, offer prayers at your homes and avoid family/friends gatherings for now. It is just a matter of time, things will be fine soon. Stay home and stay safe," she said.
Ramzan is likely to begin from April 24.
