KSA: heLPy holds fourth AGBM; Nizar Udyawar elected president

Dammam: heLPy Livelihood a philanthropic organization conducted its fourth annual general body meeting at Rose Restaurant in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 05 Jan, 2018 after Ishaa prayer.

Master of the ceremony Br. Mohammed Riyaz opened the meeting with Islamic Greetings and invited the distinguished guests and its office bearers to the dais. The meeting commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran by Br. Shakir Mangalore who enlightened the importance of charity in Islam and how to utilize and emphasized the audience to come forward and help the needy in the community for its betterment and gain rewards from Allah, the Almighty.

President Br. Mohidin Bawa welcomed all the guests and members. He gave a brief explanation on heLPy’s journey and progress in last 4 years. He briefly described few causes for the existence of charity activities in India and present situation of our community due to the groupism within the society. He appreciated and thanked the committee of the term 2017 for their enormous support which had strengthened the Unit to lead in the direction of prosperity.

The annual report for 2017 was presented to attendees in a professional way by the General Secretary Br. Suneer Ahmed. He briefed about heLPy to the audience, which literally represents an association meant for the welfare of less privileged brothers & sisters of the society. He further briefed the activities and the achievements of heLPy in 2017. His reports highlighted the activities done by heLPy under their EMORE program which is Empowerment, Medical, Orphan Aid, Ration and Education.

The success story of heLPy has to be communicated. Alhamdhulillah every penny contributed by heLPy members, supporters and well-wisher is spent on a great way which can benefit contributors in this life and hereafter. The best charity is to satisfy a hungry person, said Prophet Muhammad (SAS). He also said "No wealth (of a servant of Allah) is decreased because of charity." (Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 2247). In 2017 heLPy provided ration to 24 families which was 17 families in 2016. Ration of INR 2000 and cash of INR 1000 is given to these beneficiaries every month. The Dua done by the beneficiaries when heLPy members visited their place was of immense pleasure and moral boosting. All the beneficiaries are satisfied by heLPy’s contributions. Team heLPy’s continuous follow up with its dedicated coordinators and distributors in India have made this program a huge success. heLPy has helped 2 brothers for Empowerment by helping them owning an auto each. heLPy has also provided 2 brothers with self-controlled Wheel chairs under Medical program.

The families that heLPy is taking care of are not only getting ration but also education to their children and moral support from heLPy’s dedicated members.

During the term 2017, heLPy had conducted 11 monthly meetings and several special meetings to discuss various aspects for the betterment of the community.

For the 4th time in heLPy’s history, Treasurer Br. Abdul Khader Shaheer presented the annual financial reports of heLPy for the Year 2017 in details.

Vice President Br Sameer Ahmed played the video of heLPy which was created by him very beautifully which included the audio and video of our beneficiaries and distributors. He presented an Accolade Ceremonial further in a neat and auspicious way. He explained the importance of the distributors role back in India who wholeheartedly support heLPy’s mission of Feed the Needy. They make sure that the ration is delivered on time. He greatly thanked and felicitated all the distributors and our sponsors who helped us to reach this height.

The existing committee was dissolved by the Election Officer Br Ismail Kadambar. He professionally continued the election process and 52 executive committee members including the following office bearers were selected for 2018 unanimously.

The elected President, Br. Nizar Udyawar had addressed the gathering and thanked the committee for giving him the opportunity to be part of the team in 2017 and selecting him to lead the growing team and giving an opportunity to lead heLPy for the term 2018. He promised to maintain and try to take heLPy to a new stature by the grace of Almighty and with the continued support and cooperation from office bearers, executives, team members and well-wishers of heLPy.

A quiz competition was held by the MC Br. Riyaz for the audience and children. Everyone present there enjoyed the occasion.

Vote of thanks was proposed by the newly selected Secretary Br Mohammed Ashraf and on behalf of heLPy had expressed the gratitude to all the members and guests for their kind presence and congratulated the New Committee for their success in accomplishing all the future assignments of heLPy. Dinner was served at the end and the Annual General Body Meeting was dispersed with a Dua.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.
