Kunil Ilm Academy school building inauguration on Feb 1

Mangalore, Jan 31: The inauguration of Kunil Ilm Academy School’s administrative building will be held on February 1 near Natekal, Deralakatte.

Addresing media persons at a press meet on Wednesday in Mangalore, Vikram Datta, Executive Officer of the Institution, said that the inauguration programme of the building built on a land of 3.26 acres, will be held at 8:30 am.

Classes from Playschool to Grade 8 will commence from June 1. The school follows CBSE syllabus and Kannada is compulsory from Grade 1 to 8, he said. The school has decided to give free admission to 50 local students who hail from economically weak background, Mr. Datta informed.

Classrooms will possess CCTV cameras besides digital smart class facilities. Air Conditioned Montessori for children below 3 years and 24 school buses are among the features of the school. Madrasa classes for Muslim students and Bharatanatyam, music and other classes for non-Muslim students will also be held, he said.

In 1988, Kunil Institution set up a school in Kasaragod’s Muttam followed by a school in Badiyadka. About 4,000 students are studying in these schools at present. In 1999, the first SSLC batch passed out with cent per cent result. The school obtained 100% pass result continuously for 14 years, Mr. Datta said.

Dr. Fakruddin Kunil, Head of the Institution, Raj Prasad Naik, Executive Officer, Principal Vijayalaxmi Rao and Chandrakanth, Convenor, were present.

Mangaluru, July 14: Melkar  Women's PU college has achieved excellent pass percentage in II PUC examinations, the results of which were announced today.

As many as 140 students of the college had appeared for second PU board exam 2020 this year. The college secured 95% results in the current academic year.

Among them 24 students passed with distinction and 94 with with first class marks.

Fathima Nisha (558 in Arts),

Zaithunnisa (561 in commerce) and Zainaba ifrath (545 in science) are the toppers of respective sections in the college.

Tumakuru, Jun 20: An SSLC student of Siddaganga Mutt here was admitted to the isolation ward of the district hospital on Saturday after he showed Covid-19 symptoms.

Health officials said that the student, a native of the Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, had returned to the Mutt via Raichur on June 15 for writing the SSLC examination scheduled to begin on June 25.

After he was admitted to the hospital the Health Department Officials kept three of his roommates under quarantine. Throat swab sample of the student has also been sent for testing.

Vilas Kumar and Treasurer Sri Maroor Shashidhar Pai handed over two cheques for Rs. 50,000/- each favouring ‘PM Cares’ – the Prime Minister’s Covid-l9 Relief Fund and ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund Covid-l9’ of Karnataka respectively to Smt. Sindhu B. Rupesh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of D. K. District at her office in Mangalore on Monday, May 4, 2020.
