Kuwait: 2nd CIGI International Thematic Conference 2018 on Feb 22, 23

Kuwait City: Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI), Kuwait Chapter, conducted a press meet at Royal Haitham Palace, Farwaniya recently in connection with the upcoming 2nd CIGI International Thematic Conference 2018 which will be held on February 22nd and 23rd 2018, at Crown Plaza, Kuwait. 

The first of its kind was held in Jeddah Saudi Arabia last year. Prominent personalities of CIGI International Chapters, eminent Indians residing in Kuwait, Officials form CIGI H.Q. and other personalities from GCC region shall be attending the two days mega event.  

The inaugural session of the event kick starts on Thursday 22nd February 2018 from 6:00 PM and will be inaugurated by P.A. Abdussalam – President CIGI H.Q. and shall be presided over by CIGI Int’l Chairman Muhamed Firoz. The Friday’s program starts at 8:30 AM which will be a daylong event with different sessions covering the various themes of “CIGI Vision 2030” in details, concluded by a gala ceremony.

 “Compass - CIGI Hand Book 2018”, a reference careers guidance book, with exclusive advice and guidance from some of the biggest names on various educational, career related, institutional topics, will be released during the conference and will be widely circulated.

Members from various print and visual media were present for the press meet. CIGI Kuwait Chapter Chairman Dr. Amir Ahmed, Senior Visionaries Sagheer Thrikaripur, Munawar Muhamed, Ashraf Vaakath, Chief Coordinator Abdul Azeez and Senior Resource person and editor of the hand book Sameer Muhamed attended the press meet along with CIGI Executive members.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.
