Kuwait: IMA launches monthly lecture series in Salmiya

Salmiya: The English unit of Indian Muslim Association (IMA), Kuwait, in coordination with ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Masjid Al-Kabir began a new journey by starting series based monthly lecture for Indian English speaking community in Salmiya on November 26, 2015.

Part one of the series was on “What husbands needs to know about their wives” presented by Sharafuddin B.S, a well-known speaker among Indian community in Kuwait. He shed light on psychological aspects of wives and their expectations from husband.

He said the best example for an ideal husband is the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). He said that the Prophet used to seek suggestions from his wives. He narrated story of running race prophet had with his wife Aisha (RA), and said that Prophet used to help wives in their household affairs. He used to show love and affection by eating from the same side where Aisha (RA) ate.

He said wives likes to be consulted in matters like naming their children, changing job, making an investment, going on a trip or ordering from restaurant. While explaining about things disliked by wives he said, a wife does not like reference of religion to prove husband’s authority. He concluded his presentation with a hadith from Sahih Bukhari which said “Women was created from a bent rib, If you want to enjoy her, you enjoy her while she is still bent, if you will try to straighten her, you will break her”.

The event continued with a panel discussion on the topic “Family Life: Challenges and Solutions”. Two panelists, Dr Irfanullah and Dr Teresa Lesher headed the panel discussion. Panelists shed light on the day-to-day challenges of family life and answered question raised by the audience.

The event began with the recitation of verse from Holy Quran by Br. Mustafa Iftekar Ahmed while Bashar Khan the convened the event.

Second part of the of the three part lecture series will be on Dec 24, 2015 on “What wives should know about their husbands”.

IMA ladies wing conducted a parallel event for teenage girls under the title “Learn Deen with Fun” at the nearby venue. The event focused at bringing Islamic values at the early age.

Highlight of the event was a speech by Dr. Nida Musharraf on the topic Lessons from Surah Luqman where she narrated the story of Luqman (AS) who advised his son to be good to parents and to respect them; Lecture was followed by an Islamic quiz with instant gifts where teenage girls participated with much enthusiasm. Sister Heena Parkar conducted the quiz.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
