Man Arrested For Alleged Rs. 11-Lakh Net Banking Fraud In Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 14: A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating an account holder of a Cental Bank of India branch in Dwarka and committing a fraud of Rs. 11 lakh, the police said Saturday.

Koshi Kumar, a native of Chandole village in Jharkhand's Giridih district, has been taken into police custody, they said.

Based on a complaint filed on September 17, a case was registered at the Chanakya Puri police station. The complainant alleged that Rs. 11.5 lakh was withdrawn from his bank account, a senior police officer said.

The complainant claimed his registered mobile number was changed without his consent and the said amount was withdrawn through net banking, the officer added.

During an investigation, the employees at the bank branch were questioned and the account details were obtained, Madhur Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), said.

With the help of CCTV footage, two accused persons were identified. One of the accused, Kumar, was arrested in connection with the case on October 5, he said.

The role of the bank employees is being probed, police said, adding they are trying to trace the co-accused involved in the case.

Moradabad, Jun 17: Two children died after they accidentally got locked inside a car while playing in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, the police said.

Four children, aged between 4 and 7 years, locked themselves inside the car while playing and were found unconscious soon after, the police added.

"All four children were found unconscious in a car and they were taken to the hospital. Two of them died and the other two are undergoing treatment at the hospital," said Amit Kumar Anand, superintendent of police (city) Moradabad.

The children were related to each other, the police said.

The man who owns the car said the children had locked themselves inside. "When we reached, the children were in an unconscious state. Two of the four children died. The incident occurred around 8 am."

Bengaluru, Feb 5: City Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru City have arrested two drug peddlers from Kerala and have seized banned products from their possession.

According to officials the arrested persons have been identified as Shinto Thomas (35) of Wayanad and Tajudden Talat (29) of Thiruvananthapuram.

"We have seized 4 kg 350 grams of Hashish oil, 21.5 kgs of Ganja, Rs. 9300 cash, two mobile phones, two ganja crushing tools, and 625 empty boxes and other articles from them", police said in a statement.

Visakhapatnam, Jul 12: A man of Kotturu village in Anakapalle mandal in Visakhapatnam has allegedly died by suicide after losing money in online gambling.

According to his friends, 24-years-old Doddi Venkata Aravind died after losing money in online gambling. However, Police is yet to ascertain the cause of death.

"This noon at around 1 pm (July 11), one Bhavani reported to us that her son Doddi Venkata Aravind (24), has committed suicide by hanging himself at their house," said Sub-inspector Chakradhar Rao.

"We think he might have committed suicide due to financial or any other problems. Full details will be known in the investigation. Whether he had lost in online gambling, we don't know the details," he added.

The police have filed a case and an investigation is underway.

DV Aravind worked as a junior engineer in a private mining company at Rayagada, Odisha. He came to his mother's place three days ago.
