Kasargod, Jun 2: A man who fell down while plucking mangoes at Manikkal in Kallar grama panchayat met with a tragic end after 20 hours of lying unattended at the accident spot. Pala, 48, a resident of ST colony at Manikkallu under the Rajapuram police station limits, slipped and fell from a mango tree on a private uninhabited plot in the locality on Tuesday afternoon. None of his relatives, neighbours or even the local panchayat ward member showedsympathy after spotting Pala lying on the ground. With no help forthcoming, Pala succumbed to his injuries at the spot by afternoon.

Mangaluru: BCCI distributes Eid kits among needy

Mangaluru, May. 21: The Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI Mangaluru) is held the Eid Kits distribution program on Wednesday, 27th day of Ramadan (20.05.2020) at BCCI office in Kankanady, Mangaluru.
It distributed around 250 kits including some cash amount to the needy
BCCI president Mr S. M. Rasheed Haji, vice president Mr. Abdul Rauf Puthige, Administrative Secretary Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed, and Executive Members Mr. Mumtaz Ali B.M.,
Mr. Mohammad Haris,
Mr. Mohammad Sharief, Mr. Asif Soofikhan were present.

Team B-Human distributes Ramadan kits in Puttur

Puttur, May 9: City based Team B-Human today distributed Ramadan kits among 70 families in Koodu Raste Jamaat and 30 families in Papetthadka Jamaat in Puttur taluk.
This was the second phase of Ramadan kit distributions carried out by the Team B-Human. So far the team distributed Ramadan kits among 200 families in three different Jamaat.
Koodu Raste Juma Masjid Khateeb Yaqoob Darimi offered dua before distribution. Team B-Human members Ashraf Aina group, Althaf, Shia Deals, Ahnaf Deals, Abdul Shukoor Haji, and E-Friends founder president Imtiyaz Perla, Saleem U B of Youth Congress, Juma Masjid president P K Mohammad Shafi Papettadka were present.
A release issued by the Team B-Human sated that it distributed food among 35,000 people since April 23. The beneficiaries include a large number of migrant workers irrespective of their caste and religion. It also arranged Iftar and Suhoor for around 450 stranded migrants every day.
Asif Deals, found of Team B-Human, said that in next phases more Ramadan kits will be distributed among needy families in some jamaats.

Rare Rurk’s Ristella Skink found in Kodagu

Madikeri, Jun 9: A rare Rurk’s Ristella Skink was found by some wildlife enthusiasts on their way to Madapur in Kodagu district.
Ristella Rurkii, commonly known as Rurk’s Ristella, is a species of skink endemic to the Western Ghats of Southern India. It is a small, insectivorous, diurnal skink found in Shola grasslands and rain forests of hills ranges in parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
The specific name, rurkii, is in honour of “Dr Rurk” who collected the type specimen in the Annamalai Hills, High Ranges, Travancore, and the Palani Hills, of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. It is endemic to rainforests South of Palghat Gap.
