Man Thrashes Wife for Stopping Him from Watching Porn on Phone

Hyderabad, Mar 9: A 23-year-old woman was allegedly thrashed by her husband after she caught him watching porn on mobile phone. The incident was reported on International Women’s Day from Dundigal which is located on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The victim has suffered injuries on the face and has been admitted to the hospital. Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Police has registered a complaint against her husband.

The victim identified as Reshma Sultana married 30-year-old Umer Pasha, a cab driver from Dundigal, in 2013. The couple has three daughters.

As per a report, Sultana on Wednesday noticed that her husband is engrossed in watching some videos on his cell phone. On noticing closely, she was shocked as Pasha was watching porn. She asked him to stop but, he did not pay heed to her advice.

In angst, Sultana switched off the wi-fi and tried to snatch the phone from Pasha. This made her husband furious and he thrashed her up. As per Sultana, Pasha punched her on the head, ear and near the eyes.

Following the assault, Pasha dropped Sultana at her mother’s place in Raj Nagar of MS Makhta in Panjagutta around 12.30 am.

Meanwhile, on the basis of Sultana and her family’s complaint, the Panjagutta police has registered a case against Umer Pasha under Sections 324, 341, and 498-a of the IPC.

Hyderabad, Mar 28: Seven labourers from Karnataka were killed and four injured when the van in which they were travelling was hit by a truck near Pedda Golconda on the outskirts of the city late on Friday night, police said.

The deceased included two children. Of the 31 workers in the van, five died on the spot and two while undergoing treatment at a hospital, Assistant Commissioner of Traffic Vishwa Prasad said.
Four others were hospitalised and the condition of one of them is critical, he said, adding the other workers in the van escaped with minor injuries.

The workers were on their way back to their home town Raichur in Karnataka as the road project they were working in at Suryapet here was stalled due to the lockdown, Prasad said.

He said initital investigations revealed that the mango laden truck, which was on its way to Gujarat, was overspeeding.

Gonda, Apr 9: A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room as he was missing his wife stuck at her parents' place due to the lockdown, police said.

The incident took place in Radha Kund locality here on Wednesday, they said, adding the deceased has been identified as Rakesh Soni, 32.

As per information, Soni's wife had gone to her parents' place and was stuck there due to the lockdown and he was missing her due to which he committed suicide, Inspector Alok Rao said.

A probe is on in the mater, he said.

Kochi, Mar 24: A 54-year-old domestic passenger was arrested at the airport here for allegedly refusing to follow instructions given by doctorsfor prevention of the spread of novel coronavirus, police said here on Tuesday.

Lami Arackal from Ernakulam, who landed from Chennai at the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery on Monday night, was arrested based on a complaint from health officials, they said.

He was, however, later released on bail.

Arackal allegedly refused to wear mask and follow other instructions to be observed by the passengers coming from other states as part of the measures to check COVID-19 spread.

He also allegedly misbehaved with the medical officers, police said.
