Mangaluru: 3 days after attack RSS activist loses fight for his life

Mangaluru, Jul 7: Young activist of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Sharat Madivala, who was brutally stabbed by unidentified miscreants last Tuesday, at B C Road in Bantwal taluk, breathed his last at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Friday evening after losing his nearly three-day long fight for life. sharath

The death came just hours after hundreds of Sangh Parivar activists staged a massive protest violating the prohibitory orders at BC Road to denounce the Tuesday’s attack. The saffron groups have now reportedly decided to hold a funeral rally on Saturday.

On Tuesday around 9.30pm, 28-year-old Sharat was attacked by a group of unidentified assailants when he was leaving for home after closing his shop.

The victim, a resident of Kandur, was operating a laundry service at BC Road. Police said that bike-borne miscreants assaulted him with lethal weapons between Kaikamba and BC Road Police Checkpoint. The victim had suffered serious injuries on head and neck.

Abdul Ravoof, a local resident with the help of another youth, had immediately taken the victim to a private hospital in Thumbey and later shifted to A J Hospital in Mangaluru. However, the victim did not respond to any treatment and died on Friday evening. More details are awaited.

Alhamdulillah.. very fortune for mangaloreans, what I see is not many muslims make use of Islamic banks as may be it bacame a habit of using interest banks though they never take interests .. or these banks aren't reaching them .. or any other issue .. recently we planned to buy a flat with a interest loan of 10lakhs , but somewhere we felt like war against Allah ..We dropped it as it involved interest loan .. then suddenly it stroke to my head I can opt for an loan from Islamic bank.. was looking for interest free bank and I found this and same in bangalore as well... 2 suspected coronavirus patients admitted in Ballari govt hospital

Ballari, Mar 6: Ballari Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul on Friday said that two persons who had shown symptoms of COVID-19 had been admitted to the district government hospital here.

Informing this to the presspersons here, Mr Nakul said that the cases were reported from Jindal village of K R Hospital taluk and another one from Hospet town in Ballari taluk.

He said a suspect returned from Dubai to Hospet last week and showed symptoms of COVID-19. Both suspected patients were admitted to special isolated ward in Ballari government hospital and their throat swab tests taken on Thursday had been sent to lab in Bangalore to check for COVID-19.

Karnataka to buy 2 lakh rapid test kits for COVID-19 detection

Bengaluru, Apr 17: The Karnataka government has announced the purchase of an additional two lakh rapid test kits for COVID-19 detection at a task force meeting on Thursday.

Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai and other senior officials were present at the task force meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwathnarayan.

The Chinese government has agreed to supply rapid test kits to an officially listed company, which will increase the number of tests once it arrives, Ashwathnarayan said.

Moreover, 250 kiosks will be set up in the state to collect saliva samples of a person with COVID-19 symptoms. Such kiosks will be launched one-by-one in taluks of the state.

Ashwathnarayan explained that this would increase the sample collection process and prevent the spread of disease.

Ashwathnarayan said the purchase of the required 25,000 RT-PCR kits was also approved.
He stated that COVID-19 patients should be treated at government-appointed hospitals. A separate coronavirus helpline will be made operational to address the queries of people, Ashwathnarayan said.

During Ramadan, it has been decided not to allow mass prayers, he said. And added that tracing of cases related to the Tablighi Jamaat meeting in Delhi has been completed in the state.

Thief breaks into house in Uppinangady, falls asleep on sofa, caught

Mangaluru, Feb 27: An utterly unprofessional thief, who fell asleep after breaking into a house, was caught by the house owner and handed over to the police in the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada.

The hilarious incident took place on Wednesday in the one-storey, tiled-roof house owned by Sudarshan at Ullas Junction under the limits of Uppinangady police station.

The thief, who gained entry into the house by removing the roof-tiles, has been identified as Anil Sahani, a native of Bihar’s Majipur district. He was snoring on the sofa with a set of keys clutched in his hand when the house owner woke up in the morning.

The house owner, who was sure that the thief was drunk, woke him up by hitting him with a stick and then handed him over to the police.

According to police, the thief was tired after removing the tiles on Tuesday night and hence he decided to take a nap soon after entering the house.

He grabbed a bunch of keys kept near the TV stand and then lied down on the sofa. He woke up only when the house owner hit him with a stick the next morning.
