Mangaluru, Sept 30: The police have registered cases against six popular recruitment agencies in this coastal city for lack of permit and alleged fraud. It is alleged that they were engaged in fraudulent recruitment of jobseekers for employment in foreign countries.
P.S. Harsha, Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru, these agencies did not have the requisite permission and licence from the Union Ministry of External Affairs for recruiting people and sending them abroad for jobs.
The agencies in the limits of the North Police Station, South Police Station and East Police Station were raided on Saturday and cases were filed against them under Sections 10 and 24 of Immigration Act and Section 420 of Indian Penal Code, he said.
Following agencies were raided by the cops:
1. Cariyer Point Travel Agency, I Floor, Essel Villon Building, Bendoorwell, owned by Abdur Razzaq and Mohammad Sharif
2. Imtiyaz International Travel Agency, Shalimar Complex Building, Kankanady, owned by Ishak
3. Asmax Enterprises, Al Rahaba Plaza, II Floor, Nellikai Road, owned by Nizamuddin
4. Skyway Travels, Falnir, owned by Ramesh Poojari; Master Associates Manpower Consultant, IV Floor
5. Crystal Arcade, Balmatta, owned by Maxix Fernandes
6. Flyking, near Rao and Rao Circle, whose owner’s name is being verified
