Mangaluru: special school kids celebrate Deepavali

Mangaluru, Nov 15: City-based Chetana Child Development Centre in association with GSB Mahila Mandal, Mangaluru celebrated Deepavali in a gala manner on Friday, November 19, 2018. Chetana Child Development Centre situated on V.T. Road in the city is an institution dedicated to the nurture of special children. It is managed under the auspices of Seva Bharati. 

Prabha Pai, President of G.S.B. Mahila Mandal inaugurated the programme with the lighting of the lamp. The children of the school too joined her in lighting the lamp. The children, along with the school staff members and Mahila Mandal members joyfully danced around the lamp singing Bhajans. The children also enjoyed bursting of crackers.

Pooja for Laxmi Devi was performed on the occasion. Sweets were distributed to all as Prasadam. Nagaraj Bhat, Secretary of Seva Bharathi, the school headmistress Supritha, the school staff and volunteers were present on the occasion.

Puttur, May 9: City based Team B-Human today distributed Ramadan kits among 70 families in Koodu Raste Jamaat and 30 families in Papetthadka Jamaat in Puttur taluk. 

This was the second phase of Ramadan kit distributions carried out by the Team B-Human. So far the team distributed Ramadan kits among 200 families in three different Jamaat.

Koodu Raste Juma Masjid Khateeb Yaqoob Darimi offered dua before distribution.  Team B-Human members Ashraf Aina group, Althaf, Shia Deals, Ahnaf Deals, Abdul Shukoor Haji, and E-Friends founder president Imtiyaz Perla, Saleem U B of Youth Congress, Juma Masjid president P K Mohammad Shafi Papettadka were present. 

A release issued by the Team B-Human sated that it distributed food among 35,000 people since April 23. The beneficiaries include a large number of migrant workers irrespective of their caste and religion. It also arranged Iftar and Suhoor for around 450 stranded migrants every day.

Asif Deals, found of Team B-Human, said that in next phases more Ramadan kits will be distributed among needy families in some jamaats.

Mangaluru, June 14: The management of Barakah International School and College has announced to waive off 33% of tuition fee in order to lessen the burden on parents who are undergoing financial crisis due to covid lockdown. 

This decision was taken after a series of virtual meetings with the Managing Director, Academic Director, Principal, Manager and PRO.

“While the school needs to continue to meet all the commitments and responsibilities towards the staff salaries, software, networking, etc, we fully understand that in the prevailing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, job loss, reduction in salaries, general hardships of the self-employed businesses and the slowdown in the economy,” sated a release issued by the school.

“We would support our parent fraternity pro-actively and at the same time continue to meet the high-quality standards of our teaching- learning process and infrastructure so it has been decided that 1/3 of the tuition fee to be waived off for 2020-21,” the release said.
