Manjhi reveals the 'true DNA of Bihar': Shatrughan Sinha

Mumbai, Aug 22: Support and best wishes are flowing in for Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Manjhi from Bollywood. While Salman Khan wished Nawazuddin best of luck, Shatrughan Sinha said the film showed the true DNA of Bihar.

SinhaSalman Khan shares a great rapport with Nawazuddin and the superstar has wished the critically acclaimed actor and the team of Manjhi The Mountain Man "all the best." The 49-year-old actor, who has worked with Nawazuddin in films like Kick and the recent 300-crore club entrant Bajrangi Bhaijaan, hopes Manjhi, which released this Friday, will be a big success.

"Kick and bajrangi bhaijaan k baad nawaz ki film Manjhi release hogayi hai aaj (After Kick and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Nawaz's next film Manjhi has released) wishing @Nawazuddin_S and the team all the best and a big hit," Salman wrote on Twitter.

Shatrughan Sinha wrote on social media, "Proud of this inspiring story of a son of the soil of Gaya, the great land of my ancestors,"

He added, "A dynamic, realistic and timely film of Bihari pride and the original, strong DNA of a son of Bihar." He hailed the decision of state governments including that of Nitish Kumar in his native Bihar, to provide tax rebate to the movie.

The actor-turned BJP leader also lauded the cast of the movie Nawazuddin Siddique and actress Radhika Apte. "The earthy 'dynamite' Nawazuddin Siddique is the discovery of the century. Radhika Apte is lovely and laudable. Wish roaring success," Sinha, who himself has acted in more than 200 movies in Hindi and other languages, tweeted.

Manjhi – The Mountain Man is based on the life of Dashrath Manjhi, a poor labourer hailing from Gehlaur village in Gaya district widely known as the Mountain Man. He had laid a road through the mountain using only hammer and chisel in memory of his wife who passed away without medical treatment as travel to the nearest hospital took a lot of time due to the mountain.

Directed by Ketan Mehta the biopic sees Nawazuddin in the role of Dashrath Manjhi, while Radhika Apte plays his wife.

Mumbai, Jun 4: Casting director Krish Kapur, who had worked on films like Mahesh Bhatt's Jalebi and Kriti Kharbanda-starrer Veere Ki Wedding, passed away at the age of 28 due to brain hemorrhage, his family said.

There was speculation that Kapur died in a road accident but his maternal uncle, Sunil Bhalla, dismissed the reports, saying that the casting director fainted at his home in suburban Mira Road here and suffered brain hemorrhage.

According to Bhalla, Kapur breathed his last on May 31.

"He had no medical history. He was healthy and doing absolutely fine. On May 31, he just collapsed and started to bleed. He died of brain hemorrhage," Bhalla said on Wednesday.

Kapur is survived by his mother, wife and seven-year-old child.

Mumbai, May 10: Nearly a month after recovering from the coronavirus, actor Zoa Morani says she has donated her blood plasma to do her bit in helping the patients currently suffering from the novel virus. The actor, who was quarantined and kept under medication in April, also urged those who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate their plasma.

"Donated my blood today for the Plasma therapy trials at Nair hospital. It was fascinating! Always a silver lining I suppose. The team there was so enthusiastic and careful. There was a general physician on standby just incase of emergency and the equipment brand new and safe (sic)," Zoa wrote on Instagram on Saturday.

She thanked the doctors for taking care of her and hoped patients benefit from the donation.

"All #Covid19 recovered people can be a part of this trial, to help others covid patients recover! I hope this works #IndiaFightsCorona. They even gave me a certificate and Rs 500. Wont lie, I felt super cool today (sic)," she added.

Zoa, along with her sister Shaza and father, producer Karim Morani had tested positive for coronavirus in April. All three were discharged from the hospital after testing negative last month.

New Delhi, Jun 2: 'Dabangg' actor Sonakshi Sinha was showered with greetings as she turned 33 on Tuesday.

Sonakshi's father and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha took to social media to express gratitude that the family is spending time together during the lockdown period.

"This week is very special for my family, as we have a lot to thank for during this lockdown period. The family got to really spend some good quality time together," the veteran actor tweeted.

"Today we all celebrate our darling @sonakshisinha Sona's birthday. May she always be positive & abundantly blessed," his tweet further reads.

Actor Preity Zinta also made sure that she wishes the 'Kalank' actor as she posted a picture with her on Instagram.

"Happy Birthday my darling Sona. Wish you all the wonderful things, today and always. Keep Smiling and shining always. Love you loads @aslisona," the 'Kya Kehna' actor wrote in the caption.

Fashion designer Manish Malhotra also posted a picture of himself with Sonakshi on his Instagram stories and wrote, "@aslisona Happy Birthday Beautiful."

Actor Huma Qureshi too extended birthday greetings to Sonakshi by posting a picture with her on her Instagram stories.

Huma wished her friend in what seems like a code language as she wrote, "You are...this friendship..how to...Love...Dosti.." along with the picture.

"Don't want to use words, you know what I mean..right@aslisona," she further wrote.

Sonakshi was last seen in the third installment of her hit film series 'Dabangg' which was released last year in December.
