M'luru: AIE launches standalone flights to Muscat, Abu Dhabi; timings revised

airindiaexpressMangaluru, Feb 9: Air India Express has started operating standalone flights from Mangaluru to Abu Dhabi and Muscat and revised the flight timings.

A release issued by the airlines satiated that it introduced standalone flights on Mangaluru - Abu Dhabi - Mangaluru and Mangaluru - Muscat - Mangaluru sectors with effect from Monday, February 8.

Until last weekend, there was a single combined flight operating on both these destinations.

Revised timings

Mangaluru : Muscat - Mangaluru : Air India Express flight no IX817 / IX818 will depart at 6: 20 a.m and arrive at 1:50 p.m. on Tuesdays / Thursdays and Sundays

Mangaluru - Abu Dhabi - Mangaluru: Air India express flight no IX815 / IX816 will depart at 9:20 p.m. on Mondays/ Wednesdays/ Fridays and Saturdays and arrive at 5:55p.m on Tuesdays/ Thursdays/ Saturdays and Sundays

The passengers who had booked on the combined flight IX817 / IX818 on Abu Dhabi or Muscat route are now supposed to get their bookings re-accommodated as per the new schedule.

WE NEED DIRECT FLIGHT from MANGALORE - RIYADH

But very sad to say that there is no direct flight from RIyadh to Mangalore. We need immediately from Riyadh to Mangalore once in a week.

Bengaluru, Jan 24: After the visit of fact finding committee members to the spot, the Christian community here decided to submit a report to the state government urging to install a 114-ft. statue of Jesus Christ at Kapala Betta in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagaram district, Congress MLC Ivan D’souza said here on Thursday.

While talking to media, Mr D’souza said the committee would submit the report to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and Revenue Minster R. Ashok and urge the government to construct the statue at the earliest.

The RSS and other BJP outfits have strongly opposed the installation, following which the government ordered suspension of the work. A few days ago, Kalladka Prabhakar, RSS ideologue, took out a rally in Kanakapura opposing the installation.

Mangaluru, May 14: An 80-year-old woman from Kulshekar in Mangaluru, who was undergoing treatment for covid-19, today breathed her last in the hospital.

The victim, identified as P-507, was said to be in critical condition for past few days.

The elderly woman and her 45-year-old son were tested coronavirus positive on April 27 days after she got admitted to First Neuro hospital at Padil in the city.

With this the covid-19 death toll in Dakshina Kannada rose to five. Shockingly, all five victims are women. The district has so far reported 34 positive cases including five deaths. Currently there are only 14 active cases. 15 people have already discharged.

Gadag, Mar 28: At a time when the adminsitration is insisting on social diatancing due to COVID-19 outbreak, scores of people gathered in large numbers at an Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) market in Gadag district to buy essential commodities.

Both men and women could be seen standing in large groups near the vendors to buy fruits and vegetables. Some of the customers were also heard bargaining with the sellers in the morning today.

A couple of days back, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that social distancing is the only way to counter the spread of COVID-19, saying the virus does not discriminate and it can infect anyone.

Interacting with the people of Varanasi through video conferencing, the Prime Minister had stated that some people, despite being empowered with knowledge, are not pay heed to warning which is unfortunate.

He said the 'Mahabharata' war was won in 18 days and the war against coronavirus will take 21 days and the aim is to win it.

According to the Union Health Ministry, there are 873 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in India.
