Leh, Aug 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today condemned the "continuing proxy war by Pakistan".
Addressing soldiers at Leh, Modi said that the "neighbouring country has lost the strength to fight a conventional war, but continues to engage in the proxy war of terrorism".
He said that the Indian military are suffering more casualties from terrorism than from war.
There was a time when prime ministers rarely visited Jammu and Kashmir, but now the prime minister has come here twice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here Tuesday.
"There was a time when...prime ministers would not come (here), and now twice the prime minister has come," said Modi.
Modi is on a day-long visit to Jammu and Kashmir's Ladakh region and he inaugurated the 45 MW Nimoo-Bazgo hydroelectric power project.
"Your affection draws me here," said Modi at a rally held at the Leh polo ground.
"I know the problems people face and most importantly I know the strength of this land," said Modi.
