Jeddah: The 30th Annual General Body Meeting of Jamiyyatul Falah, Jeddah Unit was conducted on 11th May 2017 after the Juma’a Prayer at The Village Restaurant Azizia, Jeddah, where numerous members and guests witnessed the gathering. 

The program was commenced with the recitation of the holy Qur’an by Master Ahil Abid, which was followed by welcoming the dignitaries to the dais by the moderator Br. Khaleel Ahmed Marnad.

Outgoing President Br. Mohmmed Saheb Belvai welcomed the Chief Guest of the event Mr. Ayub Jinjani, (BBC Urdu Correspondent Saudi Arabia and Middle East) and Guest of Honour Moulana Parvez Madani. He thanked them for accepting our invitation and making it convenient to grace the occasion.  He thanked the Event Sponsor for his continuous and generous support to JF. He also welcomed all the executive committee members, life members, patern members, sponsors and the guests. He thanked the outgoing Executive Committee Members and their kind cooperation and support granted for discharging the responsibilities efficiently and effectively. He also wished the new committee will be progressive and dynamic, In Shaa Allah.  He underlined the dedicated and innumerable services rendered by our Founder Br. Muhammed Iqbal Yousuf in establishing our organization way back in 1987 which has now become one of the most prestigious NGO in the Karnataka State.

General Secretary Br. Mohammad Ansar Shaikh presented the annual report, which highlighted the commitment of Jamiyyatul Falah towards the development of the poor and needy communities in the undivided coastal districts of the Karnataka State. He also briefed on the activities and events conducted during the year 2017 – 2018 along with the upcoming projects. Treasurer Br. Nazir Ahmed Karkala presented the Financial Report of JF Jeddah Unit.

Chief Guest of the event Br. Ayub Janjani (Correspondent - BBC Urdu Services KSA) emphasized on the importance of social welfare of our community and our responsibility towards the underprivileged section of the community. He apprised the audience of how Jamiyyatul Falah has served the community with the main intention to seek reward from the Almighty Allah. He encouraged JF to reach to each deserving family by providing shelter, food, educational support, health care systems etc. 

Guest of Honor Br. Moulana Parvez Madani supplicated verses from the Holy Qur’an and quoted numerous Hadith, emphasizing on the importance of Zakaat and Fitra. He supplicated that, “May Almighty Allah strengthen each member of this tremendous organization and enable them to serve the community.”

Br. S M Shafy, Br. Ibrahim Bandady and Br. Abdul Khader Kudroli conducted the election process of the present Executive Committee for the year 2018 - 2019, which comprises of 31 members including new faces.

Br. Muhammad Rafikh Moodbdri was elected unanimously as the new President for JF Jeddah Unit for the year 2018- 2019.

The newly elected president thanked the outgoing President and his team for their successful term which achieved many developments within the NRCC Units.  He also requested all the elected members to offer support and cooperation to carry out the activities of JF for the noble cause.

To conclude the ceremony, Br. Shaikh Saoud delivered the vote of thanks, which was followed by lunch.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.
