Bengaluru, Sept 19: A quarrel between two siblings has culminated in the accidental murder of younger brother at Anjananagar, off Magadi Road, on the outskirts Bengaluru.

Muniraju C, 35, an electrical contractor and resident of Anjananagar, and Jagadish C, 28, resident of Honnaganahatti village, fought over family and finance issues.

Around Monday midnight, Jagadish damaged his brother’s car and Muniraju tried to get even by hurling a hollow cement brick at Jagadish’s bike. The brick missed the target and landed on Jagadish’s head, knocking him out cold. Muniraju is on the run.

The brothers had been living together in Honnaganahatti village until recently and ran a small finance business, including chit funds. Jagadish fell in love with a girl and married her a few days ago despite stiff opposition from his family. This led to differences between the brothers.

They sustained huge business losses and investors started asking for their money back. Muniraju shifted to a cousin’s house in Anjananagar 15 days ago with his wife Kusuma, further angering Jagadish.

On Monday evening, Jagadish visited Muniraju’s house and got into an argument with him. He assaulted his sister-in-law in a fit of rage before leaving. Jagadish went to a bar and drank with a friend. He returned to his brother’s house at midnight. Muniraju, who lives on the fourth floor, came out and asked Jagadish to leave.

A furious Jagadish took a boulder and dropped it on Muniraju’s Maruti Swift damaging it. Muniraju, who was standing on the fourth floor, flung a hollow cement brick at his brother’s bike. It slammed into Jagadish’s head instead, killing him.
