Campaign on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from Feb 14

Mangalore, February 11: New Age India Forum (NAIF) will organise a month-long campaign “Ideals and Message of World Leader” under the theme “Know the Prophet of Mankind” from February 14 to March 18.

Rafiuddin Kudroli, Chairman of NAIF told media persons at Press Club here on Friday that the campaign would be fruitful in the present scenario where values of humanity are deteriorating. The campaign is aimed at re-establishing the divine world through the value based life.

The campaign would be launched at Divya Jyothi Vidyalaya after Isha Namaz and would conclude in a public meet at Town Hall at 5 pm.

The campaign will contain programmes such as public meetings, corner meetings, distribution of pamphlets and books on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Khuthba on Fridays, disseminating the Prophet's message through banners and posters, personal meetings, interaction and debate etc.

NAIF will also hold public meetings at Deralakatte, Ullal, Bengre Kasba, Krishnapura, Adyar Kannur, Uppinangady, Bajpe, Kudroli and Farangipet during the campaign.

Adil Pandeshwar, Secretary of NAIF, Salim Malar, Convener of the Campaign, Nazim SS Emmekere, Assistant Convener, were present at the press meet.

Bengaluru, May 18: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge on Monday slammed the State Government’s decision to appoint administrative committees to Panchayats, which completes their five-year term, shortly.

Speaking to media persons, the Congress leader described the State Government’s decision on appointing committees as a ‘death knell ‘ to the basic characters of the Panchayat bodies, which were elected on a non-party basis.

Strongly recommending the BJP-led government to desist from its decision, Kharge urged Chief minister B S Yediyurappa to extend the term of the elected bodies of the Panchayats by six months.

Bengaluru, Apr 28:  Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today launched a Helpline service for Kannadigas residing outside Karnataka.

On April 24, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary in a letter to the Chief Minister requested a helpline for stranded Kannadigas in Mumbai, other States and other countries.

The helpline will help resolve the problem of stranded Kannadigas across the country. After a request is made, local authorities of the caller will be contacted to provide the required help. The helpline will be operated from Bengaluru and staffed with 50 employees in three shifts.

Mangaluru, Jan 24: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Friday said that a specialised task force to manage natural disasters would soon be constituted in all talukas of the Dakshina Kannada district, an official statement said here.

She further said in a meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority that during the floods last monsoon there was a shortage of boats to rescue stranded residents from flood-hit areas. Hence, more boats would be procured for the Home Guards and the Fire and Emergency Services.

She also instructed officials to make sure that schools have their own disaster management plans and also advised them to carry emergency materials kit, used during a natural disaster, in their vehicles.
