Vehicles of various brands on display at Auto Expo in city

Mangalore, February 26: The Auto Expo 2011, organised by Manipal Ace, here, brought many auto manufacturers under one roof to showcase their latest products and offer the best deals.

District-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar on Saturday inaugurated the rare Auto mela at the Loyala Grounds of St Aloysius Pre University College at Kodialbail in Mangalore at 10:30 am.

The expo also features participants providing goods and services connected with automobiles, like auto finance, auto insurance, auto air conditioning, auto accessories, oils and lubricants etc.

The exhibition will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday between 10 am and 8 pm, without any entrance fee.

An on the spot painting competition was held for children in the afternoon with the central theme 'My dream car'. Treasure Hunt Motor Rally for two and four wheelers will be held on Sunday at 10 am.

BR Bhat, General Manager, Corporation Bank, Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, CEO and Managing Director of Manipal Ace were present during the inauguration.

Covid-19 | Yediyurappa's health stable, Siddaramaiah suffering from high fever

Bengaluru, Aug 4: The heath condition of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa who had tested positive for Covid-19 continues to be stable and he is currently asymptomatic, hospital source said.

Congress leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah who too has tested positive for Covid-19, is suffering from high fever and is currently receiving treatment. He has been admitted at the Manipal hospital in Bengaluru.

"I request all those who had come in contact with me to check out for symptoms and to quarantine themselves," Siddaramaiah had said in a tweet.

Yediyurappa, is in the same hospital for treatment along with his daughter B Y Padmavati, who too tested positive for the virus on Monday.

Yediyurappa on Sunday night (2 August) had tweeted that, "I have tested positive for coronavirus. Whilst I am fine, I am being hospitalised as a precaution on the recommendation of doctors. I request those who have come in contact with me recently to be observant and exercise self quarantine.”

Karnataka's Davanagere district reports 21 COVID-19 positive cases

Davanagere, May 3: Karnataka's Davanagere district on Sunday reported 21 COVID-19 positive cases, said Mahantesh Beelagi, Deputy Commissioner.

The number of COVID-19 patients has suddenly taken a giant leap in the district.

"We had sent 94 samples on May 1, on May 2 we sent 72 samples. Today we sent 164 samples for testing. In the last two days, 21 samples have tested positive for coronavirus, we are tracing to know how did all of them came in contact with COVID-19 infected person," said Mahantesh Beelagi.

"Our surveillance team and police team have started tracing the primary and secondary contacts of all 21 people," he added.
Davanagere is currently in the Green Zone.

Meanwhile, 13 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Karnataka till 5 pm on Sunday, taking the total number of cases in the state to 614, according to the State Health Department.

In Karnataka citizens get three months time to pay electricity bills without fine

Bengaluru, Mar 29: Escoms have been directed neither to penalise its customers nor go for disconnection if one fails to pay the bill. The relief is applicable till June. However, the entire bill will have to be paid at the end of three months.

The revised power tariff, which was to be announced on April 1, has also been deferred.

A similar three-month relief has been given on rentals for APMC and BBMP shops.
