Kababs, shorbas beckon at 'Lucknowi Food Fest'

Mangalore, March 9: The best of Nawabi cuisine will be available for food buffs at the 'Lucknowi Food Fest' which commences at Coral, the multi-cuisine fine dine restaurant of the premier hospitality establishment in the city, the Ocean Pearl, from March 11 onwards.

Disclosing this to media persons here on Wednesday, Nagarajan J Udupa, Vice President, Sagar Ratna Hotels Pvt Ltd, said delicious non vegetarian and vegetarian dishes prepared by renowned chefs from Lucknow, specially assigned for the festival, will be the highlight of the Fest. A bygone era when this cuisine was patronised by the royalty will be relived during the festival, he added.

He said the Lucknowi Food Fest is a part of series of promotions being organised by the Sagar Ratna Group in Mangalore city.

He said food enthusiasts will be swept off their feet by the wide range of culinary delights from Lucknow featured at the festival.

“The Fest offers delicacies such as Tomato Pudina Shorba, Gosht Paya Shorba, starters such as Arabi Ki Galoti, Gosht Galoti Kabab, Tangdi Wajid Ali Shah, Raan-e-Meharbhan, Lucknowi Seekh Kabab, and seafood delicacies such as Jhinga Meharon Nisha and Ajwaini Mahi Tikka,” he added.

Explaining the culinary details of the festival, Mebarban Khan, group corporate chef, said the wide array of cuisine was sure to delight the Mangaloreans. According to Khan, the main course has an appetizing range of choices including Murgh Khaskaliya, Nalli Gosht, Cucha-o-kheema and Panneer Lazeez. “I am happy to treat the Mangaloreans to the best of Nawabi food”, he added.

Bengaluru, May 21: Karnataka reported 116 fresh cases of coronavirus on Thursday, taking the state tally to 1578. 

So far, 570 people have been cured and discharged while 41 have succumbed to the virus, informed the state health department.

Out of the 116 cases, 71 have a history of inter-state travel history to Maharashtra.

Out of the 116 cases, 27 are from Udupi alone, 15 cases are reported from Mandya and 13 are from Hassan. Bengaluru Urban saw seven new cases.

Bengaluru, May 1: Karnataka has reported 11 new cases of coronavirus, taking the State's count to 576, informed the Health Department on Friday.

Out of the total COVID-19 cases found in the State, 235 people have been discharged and 22 people have died.

"11 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Karnataka from April 30, 5 pm till noon today, taking the total number of cases to 576, which includes 22 deaths and 235 discharges," said the State government COVID-19 bulletin.

Bengaluru, Jun 27: The Bengaluru Police Commissioner’s office on Infantry Road has been sealed after one of the staffers tested Covid-positive. It will remain shut from June 27 to 29. 

A senior police officer from the administrative department, in a media release, stated that almost the entire staff has been asked to work from home, while some have told to work from sub-divisions of DCP’s offices. 

It is said that one of the staffers, who recently reported for duty at Anti-Terror Cell (ATC), tested positive on Friday, and officials took a decision to seal the premises after the media got wind of it. 

Earlier, a function for Drug Observation Day too was held on the premises on Friday. The staff has not been asked to go on quarantine. 

Only a few staffers have been asked to come to the police control room situated in the same building.
