Young Tibetans vent their fury against China

Mangalore, March 10: Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) took out a rally on the occasion of the 52nd Tibetan National Uprising Day in support of the freedom of language in Tibet from Jyothi Circle and staged a demonstration at Nehru Maidan here on Thursday.

Tasho Dhoudup, President of the TYC who led the rally said “We commemorate with pride March 10 in the annals of our freedom struggle as a glorious reflection of the unwavering courage and nationalism of our people in upholding the sacred values of Tibet's independence against the tyranny of China”

He said “This is the eve of 52nd year of China's occupation of Tibet. We are struggling for freedom. We don't have any human rights in Tibet. Everyone there is under the Chinese rule”.

In stark contrast to the Chinese propaganda of developments, prosperity and freedom in Tibet, the ground reality of the killing of over 1.2 million Tibetans, gross repression and human rights violation, wanton illegal and arbitrary arrest of Tibetans, closure of religious institutions, censor of websites and media, exploitation and destruction mineral resources in Tibet warns of the onset of a second Cultural Revolution in Tibet, he added.

Over 100 protesters wearing yellow and Black T-shirts and waving Tibetan flags, marched shouting slogans against China.

Bengaluru Police raids spa, 2 held, 6 women rescued

Bengaluru, Mar 1: Bengaluru Police has rescued six women and arrested two people after a raid on a spa, allegedly operating illegally, in the city's HSR layout area.

"Of the women rescued three are from Thailand and the other three are from North-Eastern states," said a statement from the Central Crime Branch's (CCB) Women Protection Wing.

The raid was carried out on Saturday night and the police have arrested two people, while the owner of the spa is absconding.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Peter Sunawar and Rajkumar Radhakrishna Mishra. Further investigation is underway in the case.

Supreme Court grants bail to 17 Gujarat mass massacre CONVICTS, asks admin to find them work

New Delhi, Jan 28: The Supreme Court of India today granted bail to 17 convicts sentenced to life imprisonment in 2002 Gujarat massacre case, pending their appeal before the Supreme Court.

The convicts also have to participate in social and spiritual services, said the court, announcing the riders for bail.

The Bench of Chief Justice of India SA Bobde and Justices BR Gavai and Surya Kant directed for the convicts to be segregated into two groups to be sent to Indore and Jabalpur.

District legal authorities in Indore and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh have been asked to ensure that the convicts do the spiritual and social work the court has asked for.

The Supreme Court has also asked the administration to find them work for livelihood. The state legal services authority has been asked to file a compliance report as also report on their conduct.

The case concerns the mass killing of 33 innocent Muslims - mostly women and children - who were burnt alive at Sardarpura village in March 2002.

This was part of the mass massacre that swept through Gujarat in the aftermath of the death of train passengers on Sabarmati Express in Godhra on Feb 27, 2002. Thousands of innocent Muslims were killed and raped in the three-day violence. The victims include hundreds of children including newborns.

In 2016, the Gujarat High Court had upheld the conviction of 17 accused in the Sardarpura massacre case.

Earlier, a Special SIT court had convicted a total of 31 persons in the case, after three years of trial against 73 persons from Sardarpura and nearby villages.

Justice delayed is Justice denied!!!! Supreme court since last 6 months taking decission not as per Just. please Uphold the Supreme court Honour as its noble institution.as culprit must be punished so has to set example for the wrong doers.

Wah, the real culprit who orchestered the complete episode has been PM to commit more such.

This man need to be facing the similar justice system. He knows, this is India, anything can be done.

Only these few are punished.

We will see the justice is really done as per real justice.

For the sake of God please do not call them JUSTICE. If they str aware of meaning of word justice then they would have given death penalty to all the culprits. So sad that supreme court of india is running as per the instructions of MODI govt. RIP Justice

Another covid-19 patient commits suicide in hospital in Karnataka

Mandya, Jul 23: Upset over contracting Covid 19, a 55-year-old man, ended his life by hanging himself, at the designated Covid hospital, in Mandya, on Wednesday night.

The deceased patient is from Kandegala village, Malvalli taluk, Mandya district. He was ailing from renal problems and was under treatment.

However, he contracted the virus and tested positive for Covid-19. Upset over this, he ended his life by hanging himself on the window grill, in the hospital bathroom, midnight. The incident came to light when other patients went to the toilet.

His last rites were conducted as per the designated Covid-19 protocol, on Thursday, said District Health Officer Dr H P Manchegowda.
