Great Bombay Circus show from Mar 18

Mangalore, March 16: The Great Bombay Circus troupe with African, Russian and Chinese artists will be in performing the city from March 18 at 'Karavali Exhibition Ground' here.



Shrihari Nair, Media Coordinator of the Circus told media persons in Mangalore on Wednesday that the troupe consists of six members from Russia and professional artistes who have qualified from the Tashkent Circus College, Russia. The troupe members are Zareena (Foot Juggling expert), Rashima (Hula-hoop expert), Ozod (Weight lifting), Munis and Navas (Acrobatics). Five Kenyan youth Juma, Essir Muhammad, D Safari and Richard will dance with the rhythm of Caribbean music. They exhibit Limbo, fire dance, rope-skipping pole acrobatics, human pyramid etc.


Chinese Roller Act, Cube Pyramid Juggling, Russian Palotna Acrobatics, Chinese candle balance, American Limping Board, Russian Spider Ring Act, Vertical Swinging Acrobat, Russian Devil Clown Act, High Wheel Cycle Skipping Act and Pocket Cycle, Russian Clown Skipping Act etc will be some of the highlights.


Sacheendranath, Promoter, Zareena, Rasheema and Juma and other artistes were present at the press meet.

Bengaluru, Jun 18: Real estate continues to be a preferred asset class for investors amid the uncertainty emerging out of the pandemic, according to a report by National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) and Housing.com.

Titled 'Concerned yet positive - The Indian Real Estate Consumer (April-May 2020)', the report showed that the real estate consumer remains positive with regard to the economic scenario and income stability for the coming six months.

"Real estate (35 per cent) is still perceived as the preferred mode of investment, followed by gold (28 per cent), fixed deposits (22 per cent), stocks (16 per cent) and homebuyers are likely to slowly return to the market in the coming six months," it said.

Price-points of residential realty have remained muted for the past few years, but are still a key deterrent, with the perception of being still unaffordable, according to nearly half of the potential homebuyers surveyed, who are currently staying in rented accommodation.

A majority of respondents surveyed (73%) comprise 'first time homebuyers', who are looking to buy a 'ready-to-move-in-house' for end-use and are from the age group of 25-45 years. While 60% of respondents opined that for the next six months, they would prefer a ready-to-move-in property, 21% said they were okay with a property with a delivery timeline of maximum one year.

The survey was conducted in April and May 2020, through a random sampling technique for a fair representation across regions. The insights presented in the survey represent the view of more than 3,000 potential homebuyers.

Chikkamagaluru, June 6: The Chikkamagaluru district has become free from confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The last two of the 16 covid patients in the district were discharged today after they were treated and tested negative.

P 2765, a 28-year-old man and P 2766, a 38-year-old man were discharged, said Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gautham. Nine others were discharged from hospital yesterday.

Till May 22, Chikkamagaluru district had not recorded any positive and had remained a green zone till then.

However, with the influx of stranded people from Maharashtra and Delhi, the district had registered 16 covid positive cases.

 “As on today, there are no active covid-19 cases in the district. However, we should be attentive and take all the precautionary measurers,” the DC said.

The officer has appealed to the public to maintain social distancing in public places and wear masks.

Mangaluru, Jun 23: The wholesale fresh fish dealers have voluntarily decided to suspend sale for 10 days from June 24 in the wake of fresh coronavirus outbreak in the region. 

Convening the collective decision of the traders in a letter, K Ashraf, working president of the association of Mangaluru fisheries harbour fish traders and commission agents, has urged the deputy commissioner to formally impose ban on fish trade in the city for next 10 days to prevent the spread of the covid-19. 

Mr Ashraf stated that decision was taken as many fish traders suffering from symptoms such as cough, cold and fever for last few days and some of the traders have got themselves admitted in hospitals for treatment. 

The letter urged the DC to prevent and ban unauthorized traders selling fish not only in Bander but also in neighbourhoods like Ullal Kotepur, Hoige Bazar, Bengre, Farangipet, near VRL, Kudroli, Kallapu and Maripalla.
