Samastha' has never supported clashes'

Uppinangady, March 20: There should not be any room for conflict in the matters of religion. The 'Samastha' which always strive for harmony, has never paved way for clashes, said Athur Mudarris Hadi Ibrahim Thangal.



He was speaking after inaugurating a two day Sunni Conference “Samastha-85” and study camp here with the promulgation “Preserving the tradition is the goal of Samastha” organized under the aegis of Kendra Jumma Masjid and Madarasa Management Association.



Puttur Masjid Mudarris Ahmed Pookoya Thangal hoisted the flag. Uppinangady Range Madrasa Management Association President Haji Abdul Rahiman Kollejal presided over the function.


Kerala Edappal Abdul Gafoor Anwari delivered a lecture on “Sunnath Jamath and organization” while Kerala Panijanira MT Aboobaker Darimi spoke on “Sunnath and Khidmath”



Musthafa Kempi, Uppinangady Kendra Juma Masjid Mudarris SB Muhammad Darimi were present. Yusuf Faizi welcomed the gathering while Majeed Darimi proposed vote of thanks. Sirajuddin Faizi, KMA Kodungai compered the programme.

Mangaluru, Jul 26: Karnataka government has initiated steps to provide insurance cover for priests and others working in temples coming under the Endowment Department -- a move that will benefit 50,000 people and their families.

Speaking to media here on Saturday evening, Minister for Endowment Kota Srinivas Poojary said there is a need to implement the decision at the earliest to provide relief to the priests and families of employees working in temples.

Department officials have been directed to include employees of state-owned temples under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyothi Bima scheme and also enrol them under State Bank of India’s group personal accident insurance policy at the earliest. The Central insurance scheme will provide Rs 2 lakh cover to family members in case of death due to accidents.

Bengaluru, Apr 18: State Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has stated that there is no need for Dubai Kannadigas to be worried during the COVID-19 crisis.
 
In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said that the State government is with the Dubai Kannadigas and their families residing here in the State, promising that they will not face any problems.
 
Bommai also sought the cooperation of all Dubai-based Kannadiga industrialists and employees in the fight against the virus.

Mangaluru, Mar 8: A cruise ship with a Panama flag has been turned back at the New Mangalore Port here following the Centre's advisory in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, officials said.

The vessel 'MSC Lirica' was sent back on Saturday as the Union Ministry of Shipping had directed all ports not to allow any cruise ship from foreign destinations to call on Indian ports.

No further details about the ship were disclosed.

New Mangaluru Port Trust chairman A V Ramana said the ministry has directed all ports to deny entry to cruise ships till March 31 in the wake of the coronavirus scare.

Around 25 vessels were expected to call on the port here during the cruise season.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted an awareness programme on prevention of coronavirus COVID-19 at Mangaluru International Airport.

The stakeholders were sensitised on handling passengers affected with covid-19 and precautions to be taken for dealing with affected passengers.
