Shivbagh residents urge corporator to address ward's problems

Mangalore, March 21: The residents of Shivbagh, ward No.34 of Mangalore City Corporation, on Monday evening staged a demonstration in front of the MCC to exert pressure on their corporator and the governing body of the city to fulfil their demands including the improvement of the conditions the roads.
The protesters alleged their Corporator Gretta Rebello of failing to meet the demands of the residents.
A complaint submitted on the occasion to MCC Commissioner KN Vijayapraksh says that the apart from the immediate need to improve the condition of the pathetic roads, the maintenance and repairs of storm water drains, footpaths, underground drainage system, overflowing manholes and leaking water pipelines have also not been undertaken so far in the ward.
“With monsoon slated to start soon, we feel unless action from your side is taken urgently, we will have to suffer for another year, in a way worse than before,” says the memorandum signed by seven prominent residents of the area.
