Mangalore, March 29: Karnataka State Employees' Provident Fund Pensioners' Association on Tuesday staged a protest in front of the office of the Regional Provident Funds Commissioner here.
The main demand of the protesters, who took out a rally from Kankanady ground before converging at the protest venue, was bringing an amendment to the EPF Act 1995.
The demands of the protesters also include minimum monthly pension of Rs 1500 for PF pensioners, re-establishment of commutation system and return of capital system, dearness allowance to be linked to the consumer price index, monthly pension to be paid on first of every month and full pension to be given after 100 months to those who have got commutation.
Dakshina Kannada District Committee of PFPA president Vasanth Achari, treasurer J Balakrishna Shetty and secretary Sukumar were present among others.
