Excavating machine seized after surprise inspection

Mangalore, March 30: After a surprise sand mining area inspection in Mogaru village in Mangalore taulk, revenue authorities have seized an earth excavating machine.



The machine registered in the name of Sri Maruthi Earth Movers, was being used to extract sand in contravention of provisions.



Prabhuling Kavalikatti, Assistant Commissioner and Rohini Sindhuri Dasari, In-charge Mangalore Tehshildar took part in the inspection along with Home Guards personnel and departmental officials.



After seizing the machine, the Revenue Inspector of Gurupur directed to file a case in this regard.

Belagavi, Mar 7: Karnataka Urban Development Minister B A Basavaraj on Saturday said that government would a take decision very soon regarding conducting city corporations election in the state.

Speaking with the media after review meeting at Belagavi city corporation (BCC) here he further said that delimitation exercise of the wards has to be done followed by reservations.

The minister stated that discussions would be held with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and would arrive at a decision to conduct the election in about a month’s time.

Bengaluru, Jan 18: The searches by income-tax officials at the residence of south Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna at Virajpet in Kodagu district were concluded on Friday.

The searches, conducted since Thursday by sleuths from Bengaluru, were concluded on Friday morning, the family said.

Speaking to reporters outside the house, the actress's mother Suman said: "We all cooperated with the officials since Thursday. The officials asked some questions which we answered properly."

Rashmika, who was not at the residence when the I-T officials arrived, joined them on Thursday night, she added.

According to sources, IT officials from Bengaluru who arrived in three cars on Thursday verified documents pertaining to properties, bank accounts and investments.

Rashmika has acted in several Kannada and Telugu movies. Her recent film 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' opposite popular Telugu actor Mahesh Babu is in the theatres now.

Bengaluru, Aug 7: The results of Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations will be announced on Monday, August 10.

Primary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said, "The results will be announced at about 3 pm on August 10."

This year, over 8.50 lakh students appeared for the exams amidst the Covid-19 pandemic fear across the state.

The department conducted the exams successfully despite resistance from various quarters and pressure to postpone the exams.
