March 31, 2011
Mangalore, March 31: Frenzied celebrations, which erupted last night soon after Misbah-ul-Haq's shot landed in the safe hands of Virat Kohli at long-on to signal the end of Pakistan innings, in the second semi-final of ICC World Cup Cricket 2011 at Mohali, continued in the streets of this coastal city on Thursday too.
The Mangalore unit of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha arranged a special celebration at Falnir junction and distributed sweets for the jubilant crowd. As a tribute to the glorious performance of Team India, they burst 10,000 crackers.
“We are very happy that Team India has entered the final after defeating the arch-rivals,” said Raghavendra Rao, city unit president of BJPYM.
