June 21, 2011

Udupi, June 21: Politicians today have stooped to such low that if you allege a politician of being corrupt, instead of denying the allegation levied against him he would point at the person who alleged him of being corrupt, said Lokayuktha Justice N Santhosh Hegde.

He was interacting with the students at a programme organized by Balakedarara Vedike Udupi at Ambalpady Sri Janardana and Sri Mahakali Temple, here on Monday.

Later Santhosh Hegde also inaugurated a district level Lokayuktha building built behind the Treasury Office, here.

Replying a student's question on CM Yeddyurappa and former CM Kumaraswamy's challenge to take the oath before Sri Manjunatha of Dharmasthala, Hegde said that he would pray Sri Manjunatha to punish the both. “By their statements on the Truth Test, both of them are trying to defame Dharmasthala Manjunatha, he said.

“People from the government ask us who are you to question us. In fact we are the citizens of this nation and have every rights under the Constitution to question the government. A government does not have the right to ask us 'who are you?', but we have every right to question the government `what are doing there?”, he said.

Dharmadarshi of Sri Janardana and Mahakali Temple Dr Vijaya Ballal inaugurated the programme. Senior Entrepreneur P Rabeendra Nayak, Convener of Balakedarara Vedike K Damodar Aithal, HS Aithal, Laxmi Bai, AP Kodancha and others were present.
