Export Excellence Award 2011 conferred to Diya Systems (Mangalore) Pvt. Ltd.

Mangalore, June 23: The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) has conferred Diya Systems (Mangalore) Pvt. Ltd. (GlowTouch Technologies); a US based IT/ITES Company with the most Prestigious Export Excellence Award 2011 – GOLD for the fourth consecutive year, at an event organised at Bangalore recently.

Diya Systems has received the FKCCI Gold Award for being one of the top software exporters of IT/ITES for the year 2010 – 2011.

The Glittering Trophy and a Citation were handed over by Dr. Anup K Pujari, I.A.S., Director General of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, Mr. K. Jothiramalingam, I.A.S., Principal Secretary, Commerce & Industries Dept., GoK, Mr. C. J. Mathew, I.A.S., Development Commissioner, Cochin Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) and Mr. H. S. Upendra Kamath, Chairman and Managing Director, Vijaya Bank. Mr. N. S. Srinivasa Murthy, President, FKCCI, Mr. JR Bangera, President Elect FKCCI, K Shiva Shanmugam, Vice President, FKCCI and S. Sampathraman Chairman, EXIM Committee were also present during this occasion.

Mr. Prakash Devadiga, Finance Manager and Mr. Yogish Pai, Sr. Systems Administrator of Diya Systems received the Trophy and the Citation on behalf of the Management.

Dubai, Mar 3: Abu Dhabi-based Indian retail tycoon MA Yusuff Ali has become the first Indian to receive Saudi Arabia's premium residency, his office said in a statement on Monday.

Yusuff Ali, 64, is the chairman of the LuLu Group, who was ranked the richest expat in the UAE by the Forbes magazine last year.

The permit, informally known as Saudi Green Card, grants expatriates the right to live, work and own business and property in the Kingdom without need for a sponsor, the LULU group said in a statement.

The introduction of the Premium Residency comes as a part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 reform plan, which was announced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to boost the Saudi economy, the statement said.

Yusuff Ali said "obviously a very proud and humbling moment in my life. This is a great honour not only for me but for the entire Indian expat community and I sincerely thank the HM the King Salman, HRH Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman and the government of Saudi Arabia."

"@Yusuffali_MA , an investor from India, after obtaining Premium Residency in Saudi Arabia: ''The Kingdom became an attractive investment destination due to the remarkable growth in economy," Premium Residency tweeted on Monday.

Yusuff Ali said he was sure that this new permanent residency initiative will further boost Saudi Arabia's image as one of the key investments and business hubs of the region as well as attract and retain new investors.

This initiative is targeting key investors and prominent personalities from various fields, including sports, arts & culture, who have played a defining role in the nation building process.

The Lulu Group owns and operates more than 35 hypermarkets and supermarkets in Saudi Arabia, which includes ARAMCO Commissaries and National Guards super stores.

Karnataka, Mar 18: Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has asked its administrative staff to work from home until further order amid coronavirus outbreak.

KSCA has taken various measures to mitigate the risk of spreading coronavirus. The association had already closed down all section of the sports centre and also given off to all the sports centre staff from March 14.

"Ksca had already closed down all section of the sports centre and also given off to all the sports centre staff w.e.f 14th March 2020. Further to that, now it is decided that most of the KSCA administrative staff will be working from home until further orders," KSCA Treasurer and official spokesperson Vinay Mruthyunjaya said in a statement.

"All the KSCA employees have been advised strictly to be at home and should not travel and be available on phones and mails. However skeleton staff will be deputed at KSCA to make sure ongoing works like grounds maintenance, regular maintenance etc., is not affected," he added.

Bengaluru, Apr 2: About 1,500 people from Karnataka might have attended the Tablighi Jamaat event in Nizamuddin in the national capital between March 8 to 20. Of these, the State has been able to trace 800 people.
 
Of the 800 persons, 143 people have been found to be symptomatic.
 
Mr Jawaid Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare), in a statement here on Thursday said that the Centre had sent the list of 1,500 people to the State.
 
“We cannot say if all these have attended the congregation. Some of them may have attended and some may be the contacts of those who have attended. We have been able to trace 800 from the list and samples of 143 symptomatic persons have been sent for tests."
