Three youth swept to sea at Tannirubavi

Mngalore, June 23: Three youth including a student were feared dead after they were swept out to Arabian Sea by a rip-tide at Tannirubavi beach on Thursday evening.

The missing youth have been identified as Deepak (21), a student and Tilak (23) and Santosh (23).

The trio had come to the beach at around 4:30 pm along with their relatives Dhanush, Mahesh, Nithesh, Prashanth all residents of Hoigebailu in Urva Store area.

The Panambur police, who are investigating the case, said that a search operation has been launched a few minutes after the trio went missing at around 5:30 pm.

More details are awaited.

New Delhi, April 3: Chairman of Lulu Group, Yusuffali MA on Thursday contributed Rs 25 crores to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) to combat coronavirus.

"I have humbly contributed INR 25 Crores to the PM Cares Fund to support all relief works in India's fight against the COVID-19," Yusuffali said in a tweet.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had created PM CARES Fund and appealed to all the countrymen to show their support for the cause.
The prime minister is the chairman of the trust and its members include the defence minister, the home minister and the finance minister.

Bengaluru, Jun 28: The Karnataka government on Saturday issued an order, directing private hospitals not to deny treatment to patients with coronavirus and COVID-19 like symptoms.

"Non-compliance of this order will attract punishment under sections of Disaster Management Act 2005," an order read.

Meanwhile, people coming from Maharashtra will be placed in seven-day institutional quarantine followed by seven-day home quarantine in Karnataka, the state government said.

People coming from other states will need to undergo 14-day home quarantine.

Kasaragod, Jul 27: Seven persons belonging to two relative-families who attended a funeral recently had been tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday.

Sources said the two families had been to Thavinjal near here for the funeral of a man who died at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital on July 19.

Later, the samples of these seven persons were sent for testing after they developed symptoms of COVID-19, the result of which came out on Monday.
