Mangalore, June 27: A collision of an Eicher lorry with a bridge wall, left the driver of the lorry dead on the spot near Kullur on Sunday evening.
The deceased is identified as Ramakrishna (30), resident of Katpadi, Mangalore.
The ill fated lorry was heading to Kullur from Panambur, when it hit the Kullor bridge wall. Due to the speed of lorry, the driver was thrown out of his seat resulting in his death.
Bengaluru, April 7: Karnataka government on Monday allowed bakeries and related product food units in the state to open and function with minimum staff amid a coronavirus nation-wide lockdown.
A circular issued by Rajendar Kumar Kataria, Secretary to the government said, "The Central government has permitted the functioning of food units engaged in bakery and biscuit, condiments, confectionery and sweet for manufacturing, supply and operating retail outlets with minimum staff/labour."
The circular said these units shall strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Department of Health and Family Welfare, Karnataka government with regard to the preventive measures to be ensured for combating COVID-19.
"It is stated that all employers shall ensure that these units maintain high standard of health, hygiene, sanitation and social distancing. The units shall not permit serving/dining in the premises and only parcel/takeaways are permitted," the circular added.

According to official sources here, the Port city received rain for more than two hours since 0500 hrs. Mangaluru, Thokkottu, Ullal, Kavoor, Bondel, Bejai and other areas surrounding Mangaluru experienced rainfall.

Bantwal, Jun 29: Seven SSLC students, who were on their way to write the examination, were injured in a road mishap near Panemangaluru on Monday.
According to sources, the auto-rickshaw in which the students were travelling overturned causing them injuries.
All the injured were students of Shambur Government high school.
Police said the accident took place as the driver lost control over the vehicle.
