Mangalore, June 27: Amidst his busy programme schedule Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Monday gave a surprise visit to the house of B Nagaraja Shetty, who has submitted resignation to the post of Chairman of Karnataka Coastal Development Authority.

After offering prayers at Dharmasthala and participating in various foundation stone laying and inauguration programmes in Kukke Subrahmanya, Mr Yeddyurappa arrived in the city and met the former DK district in-charge minister at his residence near Bejai Church and held a 20-minute discussion.
Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, district in-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar, Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly N Yogish Bhat were also present at the closed door meeting.
It is said that CM invited Mr Shetty to Bangalore for a detailed discussion with him after the latter refused to withdraw his resignation letter.
Sources within BJP said that Mr Yeddyurappa tried his best to convince Mr Shetty to continue as the chairman of the three year old body.
Mr Shetty resigned from his post as well as the primary membership of the BJP last week. Besides handing over his resignation to BJP Dakshina Kannada district unit president Padmanabh Kottary on June 22, he also had endorsed copies of the letter to state president of the party KS Eshwarappa.
