Tapta Mudra Dharana' ceremony held

Udupi, July 12: The ''Tapta Mudra Dharana'' ritual was held at the Sri Krishna Temple here on Monday.

Paryaya Shiroor mutt seer Lakshmivaratheertha stamped the figures of “shanka” and “chakra” on the chest and arms of the devotees.

Earlier, the seals of “shanka” and “chakra” were heated during the “Sudarshana Homa” conducted at the temple. There was a long queue of devotees, in front of the temple who waited for their turn to participate in the ritual.

The “chakra” is stamped on the right arm, while the “shanka” is stamped on the left arm. The symbols are stamped on women as well.

Normally the seals are stamped on the stomach of little girl children and boys who have not undergone the thread ceremony. All the mutt seers performed “Tapta Mudra Dharana” ritual.

Seers from various part of the state came to the temple town to take part in the ceremony. It is believed that “Tapta Mudra Dharana”. The programme is held on the “Prathama Ekadashi” or “Sayani Ekadashi.” It is believed that mudra dharana helps the boy fight against anti bodies.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Bengaluru, Jul 19: A man protested in front of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa's residence on Saturday alleging lack of medical care claimed the life of his one-month-old infant girl, police said on Saturday.

Venkatesh sat with the baby's photograph in front of the Chief Minister's house, saying the girl developed health issues on July 11 and he rushed her to a hospital, but it turned him away, the police said.

He said he had approached about a dozen hospitals and all of them refused to provide the baby any medical care. Eventually, the baby died.

This forced Venkatesh to hold a protest to draw the Chief Minister's attention to the issue, the police said.

The demonstration drew public attention and a few people joined him in the protest, they said.

Kalaburagi, Mar 14: Utter negligence of Kalaburagi health department officials was one of the main reasons for the death of his father, alleged family member of Kalaburagi man and India's first COVID-19 victim here on Friday.

The victim's son said 'if officials of Kalaburagi health department had advised us to admit his father in isolated ward, which was opened in Gulbarga Institute of Medical science (GIMS), my father's survival time may have been extended,' he said.
