Mangalore, July 13: Even though, no major breakthrough has been achieved in last 15 days of probe into the brutal murder of a woman and her daughter at their residence in Panjimogaru, the city police remained optimistic on solving the mystery behind the crime.
Admitting that the case itself was 'complex' in nature, Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh said that the police have been investigating the case from all the angles.
Four teams which constituted to probe the case are doing a good job. “Although we have suspicion on some people, we could not collect sufficient evidence against them,” he said.
Regarding the allegation that two Dalit boys were tortured in the pretext of interrogation; Mr Singh said that DCP and ACP were dealing with case and disciplinary actions would be taken, if allegations proved to be true.
