Allegations against Ullal TMC false: Farooque Ullal

Mangalore, September 23: BJP has leveled false allegations against Ullal Town Municipal Council. The Council is ready for any kind of investigation from government or Lokayukta, said the Municipal Standing Committee President Farooque Ullal, addressing a press meet at Congress office on Thursday.

BJP is trying to misguide the administration of the municipal council. The opposition party is not questioning on the inadequate supply of water to Ullal TMC. They are playing biased politics, he alleged.

Drinking water project worth Rs 14.84 crore was started eight years back, but has not been completed till date. Several times a memorandum was submitted but the government has taken no action. When MLA U T Khader questioned the issue in the Legislative Assembly, Minister Suresh Kumar had assured to solve the issue but the matter has not been sorted.

The grant from the government to the TMC has been distributed to all the wards equally. However, the government has not granted any housing schemes to the Ullal TMC, the alleged.The Rs 64 crore granted for the purpose of drainages will be utilised. The road which will be dug for the purpose will be repaired, assured Farooque.

Bantwal, Jan 15: Two people died in a head-on collision between two two-wheelers at Mani-Mysuru Highway in Bantwal last night, police said on Wednesday.

Police said that Parikshit (19) and Padmanabha Gowda (28) were heading towards Mane while Mohammed Ajmal (19) on his activa was on his way towards Kodaje when they collided head-on.

All the victims were immediately rushed to hospital for treatment where two of them breathed its last after not responding to the treatment.

Parikshit and Ajmal lost their lives while Gowda suffered critical injuries, the police said.

In another road accident reported from Kodangayi near Radukatte in Vittla, seven people including women and children sustained injuries when a Maruti Omni and another vehicle collided here on Tuesday evening.

Chamarajanagara, Jan 20: Karnataka High Court Judge P G M Patil has said that it was the responsibility of the judiciary to ensure that justice was not delayed.

He was speaking at a function marking the inauguration of the first and second floors of the district courts in Chamarajanagar town here last evening. He said that the role of the judiciary was critical in establishing justice in society and hence all efforts must be made to ensure that there was no delay in securing justice.

He observed that the district court has been provided with better amenities that should be utilized for the benefit of the public. The district is no longer backward. It has shown progress and development in recent years and has produced three HC judges, Justice Patil added.

Mangaluru, Jul 8: A corporator and a staff in Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) have tested positive for the coronavirus. 

The woman corporator, who was under home quarantine for past few days ago, received her covid test report today. 

A staff of health department who works in MCC also tested positive for the covid-19. 

The woman corporator had recently attended a primary health centre meeting. A person who had attended the meeting was later tested positive. Hence the corporator was placed under home quarantine.
