Padubidri, October 3: Karnad based Vijeth V Shetty (18), who was residing at Malad in Mumbai, died as he slipped from a moving train last Friday.
Vijeth was a first year B. Com student in Dalmiya College of Malad. The tragedy said to have taken place between Goregaon and Malad, when he was on his way from college to CA classes. He died of severe injuries.
Vijeth was a talented student. He is the first son of Aleyur Doddamane Vamana Shetty and Karnad Kolambe Mane Swarna Jyoti Shetty.
Davanagere, Jan 16: Congress leader D K Shivakumar on Thursday turned down all the recent media reports of him aspiring for the coveted Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committe (KPCC) president post.
Terming all the news, doing rounds, as baseless, Shivakumar said that he never made any attempt to become KPCC president. "All I want to do is work for my people and party", he asserted.
Referring to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's visit to Harihar's 'Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica' programme, Shivakumar said."I'm not concerned about what others are doing, everyone is free to take part in the programmes."
Bengaluru, May 10: Amid the coronavirus lockdown, two police inspectors were suspended for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale of cigarettes.
"Two police inspectors suspended after an enquiry found their involvement in illegal sale of cigarettes during the lockdown in Bengaluru," informed Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil while speaking to news agency.

Kasaragod, June 14: Two teenagers lost their lives and two others sustained injuries after the car in which they were travelling veered off the road and turned turtle at Kumbla in Kasaragod district today.
The deceased have been identified as Hussin (17), son of Abusalih-Hasina couple from Kumbala Badria Nagar and Hasan Midlaj (18) hailing from Talangara.
The condition of Shahal, a resident of Moghal, is said to be critical. He was rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
The accident occurred near Little Lilli English Medium School. High speed and rash driving are said to be reason for the crash.
The Maruti Zen car veered off the road and rammed into a tree before turning turtle. There were four people on board the car. One died on the spot and the other at the hospital.
