Mangalore, October 9: S D M College of Business Management, Mangalore in association with Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangalore will be organising two day UGC sponsored National Conference on “Challenges of Supply Chain Management In 21st Century” which will be held on October 10 and 11.

Prof. Dr. B R Ananthan, Vice Chancellor, Rani Channamma University, Vidyasangama, Belgaum will inaugurate the Conference at 9:30 a.m. on October 10 in the College Conference Hall; Sri K.S. Koppalkar, Chairman-Indian institute of Materials Management CGM (Mtls & IS), MRPL & Mrs. Deepti Shetty, Faculty, Department of Business Administration, Jain College of Engineering Belgaum and Alumni of SDMPG Centre for Management Studies and Research will be the guests of honor; Dr. R. Jagadeesh, Professor, SDMIMD, Mysore will deliver the keynote address and the function will be presided by Smt. Latha Kini, President, Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mangalore.

Two days long deliberation includes various sessions on – “Network Design in Supply Chain Management” by Sri Ramachandra Mijar, Associate Vice President, Manipal Media Network (P) Ltd., Manipal, Chaired by Dr. Cynthia Menezes, Associate Professor, Canara Bank Institute of Management, Bangalore; “Information Technology & Supply Chain Management” by Dr. H.N. Shivaprasad Nayak, Director, Reva Institute of Management, Bangalore, Mr. Lokesha, Faculty, Sahyadri Institute of Management, Mangalore; “Supplier Selection & Strategic Alliance” by Sri Radhakrishna L.,Sr. Manager, Faively, Department of Business Administration, Jain College of Engineering, Belgaum. Academicians, Research Scholars and Professionals from various fields will also be presenting papers.

In the Valedictory function to be held on 11th October 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Prof. Dr. B.S. Sherigara, Former Vice Chancellor, Kuvempu University; Dr. Cynthia Menezes, Associate Professor, Canara Bank Institute of Management, Bangalore & Alumni of SDMCBM will be the guest of honor. The objective of the Conference is to provide an overview of the relevant issues in Supply Chain management and Service Operations Management. Bengaluru, Apr 6: The Covid-19 Task Force aims to conduct 80,000 throat swab and blood tests over the next three weeks here.

According to Task Force Nodal Officer C N Manjunath an order for one lakh anti-body test kits has been placed, and was expected to arrive on April 12.

"From January 20 to March 23, more than 1.2 lakh people arrived at international airports from abroad. Of these, we have kept 37,358 under observation. The Health officials and personnel in fever clinics and hospitals are being trained to conduct the tests. There is no necessity to obtain a clearance to test people with suspected infection. Only laboratories need to get permission to test their blood and throat swab samples."

Udupi, Jul 21: Udupi Court complex has been sealed down for two days for sanitisation after a judge tested positive for Covid-19, a source said on Tuesday.

The Covid cases in Udupi district which had reduced recently are once again seeing a spurt. On Monday, as many as 98 have tested positive taking the total cases in the district to 2,321.

Mangaluru, July 28: In an unexpected development, the government of Karnataka has transferred Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh.

The development comes days after the IAS officer warned of legal action against those attacking cattle traders in the region.

Another IAS officer Dr Rajendra K V who was the CEO of Belagavi Zilla Panchayat, has been transferred and posted as the new Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada.

Dr Rajendra is a medical doctor graduated from Bapuji Medical College, Davangere. He had secured the 32nd rank in the civil services examination in 2013.

Sindhu B Rupesh had taken over as DK DC in September 2019.  Now, she is posted as the director, electronic delivery citizen services (EDCS), DP & AR (e governance) Bengaluru.
