Mangalore, December 9: Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda in the backdrop of the CM's confession in the Legislative Council Session on Thursday.

The CM had informed the Session that he is undergoing an enquiry pertaining to the two sites he possesses in HSR Layout and the commercial complex he has built violating the rules.

Speaking to media persons after celebrating the birthday of UPA President Sonia Gandhi at an old age home - Prashanth Nivas on Friday, Poojary said that if the CM has morality, then he should resign from his post. The High Court has ordered for an enquiry against several ministers of the BJP State government. The ministers and MLAs including Ashok, V Somanna, Renukacharya, Ramadev, Ramachandra Gowda, B S Yeddyurappa and his son Raghavendra are all facing probe.

The BJP which is demanding resignation of two Congress Union Ministers namely P Chidambaram and S M Krishna, should insist for the resignation of the ministers in the State against whom the Court has ordered for an enquiry, he said.

He alleged that the State government is trying to destabilise the post of Lokayukta in the State. “The BJP government has proposed the name of Bannurmat only because they expect him to dance to their tunes.

The BJP has shown its communal face by appointing Shankar Bidari as the Director General of Police because he is a Lingayat member and has sidelined a senior officer to the post as he belongs to minority community,” alleged Poojary and added that the Congress severely opposes such actions of the State government.
