Mangalore, January 24: The provocative speech by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat at a recent Hindu Samajotsava, which was trailed with communal violence in Uppinangady town, 55-kms from here, has evoked strong response in the district headquarters.

While Congress, JD(S) and Muslim Central Committee have continued to demand the banishment of hardline Hinduva leader from the region, RSS, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Hindu Hitharakshana Vedika have condemned the act of Uppinangady police, who have registered cases against their influential leader and his close accomplices under IPC section 153A and 295A for promoting enmities between communities and causing national disintegration.

Justifying the speech of Mr Bhat, local leader of VHP M B Puranik at a press meet here on Tuesday, demanded the police department to withdraw the cases against Mr Bhat immediately.

Stating that there was not a single absurd word in the speech of RSS leader, Mr Puranik said that if anyone was hurt by former's speech they could have arranged separate meetings to voice their feelings instead of obstructing 'Samajotsava'.

He also held the police department responsible for the post-Samajotsava violence in Uppinangady, who according to him, failed to maintain law and order, despite their strong deployment in the town.

Mr Puranik alleged that few Muslim dominated organizations like KFD and PFI had played a major role to spoil the Hindu Samajotsava.

In a separate press meet Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike leader Harish Achar condemned the police department for registering case against Bhat. “We are all with our beloved leader Mr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. We are ready to reiterate each and every dialogue of his speech. Let the police take action against us too” he challenged.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary Ivan D'Souza has sought the intervention of Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj in the issue in order to avoid the further attempts by communal forces to instigate violence in the society. “Governor must intervene and order a probe into the issue”, he said.

Addressing a press conference at district Congress office, here, Mr D'Souza held ruling Bharatiya Janata Party responsible for the present situation in Uppinagady. “The BJP has deliberately created such a situation in a peaceful town of the district with the help of Prabhakar Bhat, keeping the forthcoming elections in mind”, he opined.

Muslim Central Committee president K S Mohammed Masood, in yet another press conference, demanded the stringent legal action against Mr Bhat for instigating violence in the society.

Bengaluru, May 31: In spite of opposition, chief minister BS Yediyurappa has appointed his former personal assistant and maternal grandnephew NR Santosh as his political secretary.

Santosh is the fourth political secretary to the CM besides SR Vishwanath, MP Renukacharya and Shankaranna Munavalli.

Santosh was arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap Vinay NS, personal assistant of BJP leader KS Eshwarappa in 2017. He's also facing attempt to murder and dowry harassment charges.

The 30-year-old had fallen out with the CM's younger son BY Vijayendra soon after the BJP came to power and had been reportedly asked to keep away from him. He had identified with some MLAs who were up against the CM.

It's said the appointment was made to send out a message to the rivals after some MLAs launched a renewed campaign against Yediyurappa over a dinner meeting at BJP MLA Umesh V Katti's house.

Though Yediyurappa was not keen, sources said Santosh brought pressure from RSS and some BJP leaders, whose help he had sought to reunite with the family.

Santosh from Tumakuru is the son of the CM's sister's daughter. He was Yediyurappa's Man Friday and his job was confined to ensuring he took his medicines on time.

Bengaluru, Jan 29: The Karnataka unit of BJP has urged the Centre and the State governments to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), accusing them of harbouring terrorist tendencies.

Addressing a press meet, N Ravi Kumar, state general secretary of the party, alleged that there was a nexus between the Congress, the PFI and the SDPI.

“Recent reports have exposed the links between the PFI and the Congress,” he said, accusing Congress leader Kapil Sibal of receiving huge funds from PFI to defend their cases in the Supreme Court.

He also accused the organisations as the ones responsible for the death of 23 Hindu activists in Karnataka. Such incidents have proven that both SDPI and PFI are dubious organisations, he said.

this is the first organization fighting against corrupt and injustice following the principle of our father of nation mahatma Gandhi’s.

the corrupt and injustice people in the society not ready to accept their policy and trying to stop the voices of justice to the society.

RSS is the most active and first ever terrorist organisation in India and it should be banned first.    There is no proof of terrorist activities by SDPI and PFI.    BJP is afraid of these organisations as they give tought resistance to BJP and this is the reason why its planning to ban these organisations.    BJP is doing propoganda only.   Real thread for peace + harmoney in India by sanghis.   We should ban them first.

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 28: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention to remove the blocking of roads including state highway along the border of Karnataka in view of lock down to contain the spread of COVID-19.

In a letter sent to the Prime Minister on Friday evening, the Chief Minister said certain actions by the Karnataka Police have resulted in the blocking the Thalassery-Coorg State Highway-30. This road connects Kerala with Coorg in Karnataka via Veerajapettah. This route is a lifeline for flow of essential commodities to Kerala."

"If this is blocked, vehicles carrying essential commodities will have to travel a much longer route to reach our state. Given the situation of national lock down, this will add much more hardship to people," it said.

"You will naturally agree with me that no action impeding the movement of essential commodities should be initiated at this moment of crisis," he hoped.
