Mangalore, February 10: As part of Eid-e-Milad, the birth anniversary celebration of Prophet Muhammad, a mass maulood recitation programme was conducted at Thaqwa Masjid, Pumpwell, here.
Around 500 people got together and recited Manqoos Maulood, a work that glorifies the Prophet.
Various programmes are organized throughout the India as part of the birth anniversary of Prophet. However such celebrations are strictly prohibited in Islamic countries like Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Bengaluru, Jun 24: Karnataka on Wednesday reported 397 new coronavirus positive cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 10,118.

Mangaluru, Jan 18: The Dakshina Kannada District Karavali Utsava Samiti has chosen senior Journalist and Assistant Editor on Udayavani Daily Manohar Prasad for the Karavali Gaurava Prashasti 2019-20.
The award will be presented to Manohar Prasad in recognition of his contribution in the field of Journalism.
He will be given the award during the valedictory of the Karavali Utsav at Panambur beach on January 19.
Udupi, Jul 8: Four people have been arrested by the police in connection with the murder of Yogish Poojary (26), a resident of Laxminagara in Tenkanidiyoor in Udupi. A gang, which arrived in a car had attacked Poojary with lethal weapons on July 6.
The arrested are rowdy sheeter Sujith Pinto (37), his elder brother Rohit Pinto (43) Annu alias Pradeep (40) and Vinay (36). Police have continued the manhunt to nab two more accused – Girish and Anup.
The accused were arrested from Kallianpur last night following which the accused were to murder spot as part of investigation. The police also seized the car and knives that were used for the crime.
Police sources said that the accused were under the influence of alcohol when the stabbed Poojary repeatedly with knives.
Three teams headed by sub-inspectors of Malpe, Udupi city and city crime branch took part in the operation. The accused have been booked under station under section 143, 147, 148, 302 and 149 of IPC.
