Udupi, March 6: In a daring robbery, three youths barged into a house at Doddanagudde here in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday and made away with valuables worth around Rs. 14.5 lakh, including ornaments and a car.

Police said that the incident occurred at the house of Kanaka R Amin, located near Dr. A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, when Kanaka's brother Vasudeva Poojary and two relatives Prakash and Gurudas had been there for dinner.

The men were watching television in the hall when around 10.30 p.m., three youths came to the house and asked for “painter Santosh” and tried to enter the house. When Mr. Poojary and his relatives tried to stop them, the three youths forced their way inside.
