Mangalore, March 12: The St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology, MBA Division, is organizing a two-day national level management fest 'Insignia-2012' from Mar 15 at the AIMIT, Beeri campus, near here.

The valedictory ceremony would be presided by Walter D Souza, Chairman, FIEO, in the evening of March 16.

Insignia 2012 is a bold step towards a paradigm shift towards management studies and is a quest for another meaningful dimension to management studies. The theme for this year's fest is 'The Blue Oceanic Quest – A Journey beyond imagination'. In order to tackle the growing concerns of compartmentalisation, the institute is presenting a small yet effective step of integrating the various management disciplines at Insignia- 2012.

The prime objective of Insignia-2012 is to help management students to look at the blue oceans i.e. markets, products, ideas that are unexplored rather than fight for a small share in the red-competitive oceans. The key to achieve these blue oceans can only be thinking creatively, innovatively and thinking out of the box. The organizers have come up with this innovative idea of including even fashion- management institutes fort his learning –enriching experience besides MBA/PG programs in business. The registration fee per team is Rs 3000 which includes food and accommodation and to and fro transportation expenses between AIMIT and Mangalore. The performance of the participants will be evaluated by some of the industry professionals, academicians, researchers and internal teaching faculty.

The learning –extravaganza will be conducted in an environment of complete fun and freedom, in the form of seven different events. These events are: Best Chief Minister, The AIMIT village, Catastrophic Healthcare Management, Sports Management, Fashion and Entertainment, Eco Management and Personal Investment Planning.

None of these events are the traditional compartmentalised management –fast games of marketing, HR or Finance and they focus on different dimensions of business management. All these events will have multiple engrossing, compelling and engaging rounds with the increasing levels of complexity. The events will be conducted in the beautiful and vast 17 acre campus and also around the locality, adding maximum punch of practicality to them. The final round ,a complete integration one will be conducted in the college auditorium by 2.30 PM on Mar 16,2012.

The organizers will also be conducting a mega cultural evening on Mar 15 starting 6 PM. It will feature a fashion show by the participants, musical, dance, skit performance and finally a band performance by the students of At Aloysius College, MBA.

Bengaluru, Feb 19: Karnataka Forest Minister Anand Singh on Wednesday said that there was no criminal case filed directly against him.

When asked about PIL filed in the Karnataka High Court against him, Singh told media: "Some lawyer has filed a PIL against me in the High Court. I cannot stop anyone from filing the PIL."

"I have given my criminal record. There is no criminal case directly filed against me. My name is there in some cases but in 'others category'. We will see what happens," he said.

When asked about Congress leader Siddaramaiah's comments criticising him for being given the forest portfolio, Singh said: "I cannot comment on what he said against me as he is a former chief minister and very senior leader."

"Also the opposition always tries to make allegations against me. That is why he criticised me," he said.

Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah on Monday demanded that Forest Minister Anand Singh should either be expelled from the ministry or assigned a different portfolio.

A number of cases are pending against Singh including those registered under the Karnataka Forest Act.

Newsroom, Apr 30: Beleaguered billionaire B R Shetty, who went into hiding after after a multi-billion fraud at UAE-based NMC Health came to light, has now put the blame on his companies employees.

The former chairman of the Abu Dhabi headquartered hospital operator said, investigations he commissioned found following things:

2. The fraudulent creation of loans, personal guarantees, cheques and bank transfers in my name, and using my forged signature, that I neither authorised, consented to, or had any knowledge of.

5. The creation and provision to me of false and misleading financial statements and information regarding the performance of some of my private companies and investments by members of my own management team.

6. The payments of expenses using my private companies and personal bank accounts, I believe to hide the true financials of the public companies."

This is the first time Dr. Shetty, who is reportedly hiding in India for the last couple of months, issued a statement based on investigations he commissioned privately. He had brought in a consultancy to conduct it after initial revelations came to light that NMC Health had not been fully transparent with its finances.

Dr. Shetty had stepped down as executive chairman after the then Board of Directors barred him from attending any meetings. “I intend to work tirelessly to clear my name and assist any authorities in getting to the truth and help them ensure that misappropriated or missing funds are returned by the perpetrators to their rightful owners,” said Dr. Shetty.

This month, ADCB, which has the highest exposure among UAE banks to NMC Health, brought charges against five former officials, including ex-board of directors, with Abu Dhabi prosecution. The former CEOs of NMC Health and Finablr are also currently not in the UAE.
