Mangalore, March 17: A group of miscreants, who claimed to be activists of Sri Ram Sena ransacked the office of a Kannada tabloid located at Ganesh Mahal on K S Raod in city on Saturday afternoon.
The attack, it is learnt, was a the response by the rightwing organization to an article published in the latest issue of 'Karavali Maruta'
The article published on the page-5 of the fortnightly speculated the downfall of Sri Ram Sena.
According to Sudesh Kumar, the editor of the tabloid, a group of six members barged into the office around 12:45pm and threatened a lady staff before damaging the property.
Computers and furniture have been damaged by the attackers. They also destroyed the glass panels. One of the attackers was also hurt while breaking the glass with bear hands. However, they fled the scene within a few minutes.
Mr Kumar in his complaint claimed that the office had incurred a loss of over Rs 35, 000. He said that prior to the incident the office had received several calls for publishing article against Sri Ram Sena.
Police rushed to the spot. A complaint was registered at Mangalore North Police Station.
