Panjinamogaru double murder: 15 km protest march held

March 26, 2012

Mangalore, March 26: About 150-200 people held a protest march under the banner of DYFI from Panjinamogaru to the Mangalore Police Commissionerate on Monday, demanding arrest of the culprits behind the murder of Razia and Fatima Zohra who were murdered on June 28, 2011.

Expressing lack of confidence in the local police who have failed to nab the ones behind the murder of the mother-child duo, Muneer Katipalla, President of DK unit of DYFI, demanded that a CBI probe be held on the matter. “The fact that even after so many days they haven't been able to nab the culprits who committed the crime in broad daylight, gives rise to suspicions and hence the matter should be handed over to a higher investigating agency like the CBI”, Mr. Katipalla said.

Mr. Katipalla added that this is the sixth protest that has been held in connection with the double murder case.

The protestors marched for about 15 kilometers from Panjinamogaru to Mangalore City Commissionerate where they submitted a memorandum to Seemanth Kumar Singh, Mangalore City Police Commissioner.
