Mangalore, April 3: Dakshina Kannada District and Mangalore City Police jointly observed the Police Flag and Welfare Day here on Monday to commemorate the service and sacrifice of police officers.
BG Achar, retired police inspector was the chief guest on the occassion.
Speaking on the occasion Inspector General of Police (Western Range) Pratap Reddy said service of police in protecting law and order and public wealth is laudable.
He said, “cops work morning and night just for security of society. Many times they don't even bother about their lives to maintain peace. Public should also co operate with them.”
Mr Achar said, to remember service of retired cops and encourage police officials, flag day is celebrated attempting good relationship with public.
Proceeds from sale of Police Flag will be utilised to undertake welfare activities for retired police personnel.
Mangalore City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh was also present.
