Under-19 and Under-16 cricketers selected for KSCA Academy coaching

Mangalore, April 6: Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangalore Zone has announced the list of Under-19 and Under-16 players selected for the KSCA Academy coaching camps.

The camps are scheduled to be held simultaneously in Mangalore, Manipal, Madikeri and Gonikoppa from April 9.

In Madikeri and Gonikoppa, more players will be selected before the start of the camp, a KSCA spokesperson said.

Many players could not attend the selection trials due to examinations in these areas.

Bengaluru, Apr 4: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday asked Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar to be the government's spokesperson on the Novel Coronavirus crisis management effort, a move that is being seen as keeping too many cooks from spoiling the broth.

At a high-level meeting to review measures on COVID-19 containment, Mr Yediyurappa is said to have taken exception to his Cabinet colleagues making multiple, and often contradictory statements, leading to confusion.

''The CM has directed Mr Kumar to be the only one to brief the media on COVID-19,'' a source from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) confirmed.

Bengaluru, Mar 31: The total number of positive cases of coronavirus reached 101 in Karnataka on Tuesday after 13 more positive cases were reported in the state from March 30 5 pm to 2 pm today.

The total number of 101 includes three deaths and 8 discharged/cured cases, Karnataka Health Department stated.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in India has risen to 1,397 after 146 new patients were reported in the last 24-hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday.

Of this little less than 1,400 cases, there are 1,238 active while 124 cured. The total figure also includes 35 fatalities.

Mangaluru, Jun 9: Two days after he went missing under mysterious circumstances, a 33-year-old man was today found dead on the banks of Netravati river at Ullal Hoige on the outskirts of the city.

The deceased has been identified as Chethan Acharya. A missing case was registered on Tuesday morning at Ullal police station.

It is suspected that Chetan might have committed suicide due to depression. 

The missing case was later converted into the case of unnatural death. Investigations are on.
