'Bangarda Kural' to hit silver screen on Apr 27

Mangalore, April 25: 'Bangarda Kural', Tulu movie directed by Ram Shetty, will be released at theatres in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Friday, April 27.

Director Ram Shetty told media persons here on Wednesday that the film the film, which was produced under the banner of Ananda Films, was shot in Mangalore, Sunkadakatte, Moodbidri and other places in Dakshina Kannada district.

He said what makes 'Bangarda Kural' unique is the fact that the entire crew of the film including artistes associated with the film belongs to Tulu Nadu, having their roots in this part of the land. Through this film the renowned director is introducing his son Anand into the film world.

Having acted in Bhojpuri films Paki Hegde is the leading actress in this film. There are seven songs and four fight sequences in the film. They have been shot with perfection in sensational and exciting places.

He said Shivadwaj, Paki Hegde, Namrutha Hegde, Suresh Mangalore, Harish Vasu Shetty, Vijay Kumar Shetty Tonse, Arvind Bolar,Shobha Rai, Chanchalakshi, Jyothi Rai, Bhagya Rai, Ravi Surathkal, Pradeep Chandra, Dinesh Attavar, Pradeep Alva Kadri, Kishori Ballal, Chandrahas Adyanthaya,Ashwini and Indira Shekhar have acted well in the film.

V Manohar has rendered the music to the film. Famous singers Sangeetha Balachandra, Ajay Warrior, Suma Shastri, Rameshchandra and Anuradha Bhat have sung the background songs.

Gadag, Apr 9: An 80-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 passed away on Thursday due to cardiac arrest in Gadag, the district's Deputy Commissioner said.

She also had a history of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). Her body was disposed of as per the protocol, officials said.

According to the Karnataka Government, 10 new positive cases have been reported in the State today, taking the total COVID-19 cases to 191, including 28 discharged patients and six deaths.

With an increase of 540 positive COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours, India's tally of coronavirus cases has risen to 5,734, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday.

Out of the 5,734 cases, 5,095 are active COVID-19 cases and 472 patients have recovered while 166 have died.

Udupi, Jun 1: As many as 73 people have been tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi district today.

The district has registered a total of 260 positive cases so far. Majority of the positive cases in Udupi district have inter-state travel history to Maharashtra.

Udupi, June 10: Philanthropist and businessman Haji P K Abuswalih Kannangar passed away today at a private hospital in Mangaluru. He was 85. 

He was a resident of Pombathota house at Kannangar in Kaup taluk of Udupi district.

He was the proprietor of Green Store in Mudigere for past five decades and also was a coffee planter. 

He had served as the president of Muhayaddin Juma Masjid at Mudigere Hand-post in the past. He was also former president of Mudigere Taluk unit of Indian National Congress.
