PWD contractor killed in road mishap

Mangalore, May 18: A public works department contractor was killed and another person sustained serious injuries in a ghastly road mishap at Karoda near Uppala in Kasargod district.

The deceased has been identified as Padmanabha Bhandari (58), a resident of Ullal.

The tragedy occurred when he lost control over his his Maruti Omni van and rammed against a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus, which was plying from Mangalore to Kasargod.

A critically injured Bhandari breathed his lost on way to the hospital. His fellow traveller Shivasankara (22) also sustained grievous injuries.

Puttur, Jan 4: As many as 27 passengers travelling in a private bus escaped with minor injuries after it toppled and fell into a roadside trench at Amai near Perne on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway last night, police said on Saturday.

Police said that the driver of the Bengaluru-bond bus lost control over the vehicle while traversing through the narrow bridge at Amai.

The bus was damaged in the mishap.

this is one of the important case that now seen to be increasing these days.  and one of the most problem that is faced and had has to be found a solution is overspeeding by bus driving which have resulted in enomours numbers of accidents with negligence of passengers lifes inside the bus.  passengers safety and lifes are not given value anymore. and another important factor is overspeeding in humps  which have resulted in backbone injuries in high number of passengers

Udupi, Mar 6: District Health Officer Sudheer Chandra said that health department had compiled a list of foreigners visiting the Temple town Udupi and ensure that they are not infected with Coronavirus.

Addressing media persons at District Government Hospital in Ajjarkad on Friday, he said the Isolation Unit set up with five beds to treat the new Coronavirus infection includes two beds with Ventilator facility. Isolation wards with three beds were set up in Kundapur and Karkala taluks to treat the affected.

In order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, Committees were formed at District and Taluk level, he added.

Bengaluru, May 31: As many as 299 fresh covid-19 cases reported in Karnataka today. Most of them have interstate travel history.

With this total number of covid-19 cases in Karnataka rose to 3221. 

District wise cases: Raichur 83, Yadgir 44, Bidar 33, Kalaburagi 28, Vijayapura 26, Bengaluru Urban 21, Dakshina Kannada 14, Mandya 13, Belagavi 13, Udupi 10, Davangere 6, Uttara Kannada 5, Ballari, Shivamogga, Kolar 1 each.

Two more deaths reported in the state. One of the patients is a 50 year old male from Raichuru district, who returned from Maharashtra. Another is a 75 year old man, a resident of containment zone in Bidar. With this the number of COVID 19 related deaths rose to 51.
