essuvvarappaMangalore, May 22: Moulana Abul Kalam Azad is one of the great freedom fighters who fought for the country and today lies in heaven, said K S Eshwarappa, State BJP President.

Adressing the gathering at a convention organized by BJP Yuva Morcha in Mangalore on Tuesday, Mr. Eshwarappa said that Moulana Azad and others such as Subhash Chandra Bose and Veer Damodar Savarkar fought for the freedom of the country in the real sense of the term. “They are all in heaven now”. But the youth of today hardly have any role models to look at, Eshwarappa lamented.

Crediting the Yuva Morcha activists for actively participating in the tricolor hoisting movement of 2010 at Lal Chowk in Kashmir, Eshwarappa said: “You have given a strong message to Pakistan that you are not scared of its terrorists. You have given them a warning that today you have hoisted the flag in Kashmir and that next time you may well hoist it in Islamabad too”.

On the anti-cow slaughter bill, Mr. Eshwarappa said that the law would already have been implemented if not for Governor H R Bharadwaj who has time and again “acted as a Congress agent who forwarded the Bill to the President of India”. The BJP government is firm in its decision to implement the anti-cow slaughter law in the state, he said.

Mr. Eshwarappa also stated on the occasion that a corruption free government has to be brought back to power in Centre and that BJP is the only hope. “Nammalli praamaanika raajakaaranigalaada Atal Bihaari Vajpayee avara rakta haritaa ide (In our veins runs the blood of “honest politician” Atal Bihari Vajpayee)”, Mr. Eshwarappa remarked.
