Mangalore, May 27: Officials of Mangalore City Corporation cleared off petty shop vendors who were selling their goods on a road in the city market area on Sunday.
Speaking to Coastaldigest.com, Srikanth Rao, Joint Commissioner, MCC, said that the Corporation had been receiving complaints about the road being blocked by petty vendors causing inconvenience for public to walk.
We had to take action after people started complaining to us stating that we are not doing our duty, Mr. Rao said.
More than 50 vendors were cleared off from the road, Mr. Rao said. In view of public interest, the Corporation would continue to take similar action against such vendors on a regular basis, he added.
